    Exclamation LBM confusion

    Okay guys being some what new here to the forums I need to know about LBM! One I'd like to know how it's calculated. Two if I'm unsure rreally about my BF % will this be a huge deal or do I need to get it calculated. And the biggest question is if I want to let's day get to 8% bf and I'm currently at 11%, is the weight calculated from my height 6 foot to the 8% BF the weight I need to get to?

    So you have your total weight for example 200lbs

    An example of Bf% is 20%

    Therefore lbm = 200 x 0.8. (0.8 is 80%)

    = 160 lbs

    TDEE= 160 x 15

    = 2400 kcal for maintenance for this example.

    You need to be pretty close on your bf% or the numbers will not work. Hope that made sense

    Another way to calculate (what I personally find easiest - and I'm a mathematical retard):

    Example - 200lbs, 15% bodyfat

    200 x .15 = 30

    then

    200 - 30 = 170

    LBM = 170lbs
    Fat = 30lbs

    Your method probably easier

    Thanks guys so in order to get to that BF % they key is to diet down to that weight? Also considering I'm doing low carb with one refeed day I think I'll look depleted all the time because of dieting or will the refeed day once a week make me look a little fuller??

    If you're depleting properly, the refeed should do a good job of making you look fuller via replenished glycogen stores, a bit of water retention, etc.

    Not sure i understand your first question... can you elaborate?

    Ok so at 178 and 11% bf....

    1% of ur weight is 1.78 lbs....

    You want to loose 2% of ur weight (in fat) to get down to 9% bf.... So 1.78 x 2 = 3.56 lbs

    So if u lot 3.56 lbs of pure fat and didn't loose any LBM your weight would be 174.4 lbs with a bf of 9%

    I hope my maths is correct
