Protein and dieting
Hello guys,
I’m curious when each of you diet at different times throughout the year. Do you give yourself a cheat meal? What do you try and keep your macros at for example: 40/30/30? Also how do get your protein levels pretty high? For example 220 grams of protein. Do you mostly food or protein shakes? Any help or advise is appreciated.
Thank you

The way I eat depends on my goals, but mostly my protein always stays around 250g. Then I manipulate mostly just carbs and a little fat. More carbs when I'm gaining, fewer carbs when I'm losing. The fat changes based on how many calories in eating at any given time. Right now I'm 40p/40c/20f. I drink one shake pre-workout, otherwise it's all real food.
Chest meals? Oh yeah, every Saturday night.

1) I don't regularly diet. I follow the 'unless you have a specific reason to, don't cut. Bulk, bulk, bulk'
2) 40/30/30 is just a starting target. It will need to be further tuned based on your body type, workout, goals, and a dozen other things
3) I try to get over 300g protein every day. Mostly meats, breakfast egg whites n maybe a shake & bar. It's not easy. It's also not cheap

You need to tailor the nutrition to your goals and individual response to foods. Copy pasting a cookie cutter macro split might help initially but you are going to plateau very fast with that approach.
A cheat or refeed meal is to serve a purpose. In my opinion a week of following q diet isn't a valid excuse to eat a cheat meal. All that accomplishes is using food as conditional reinforcement reward structure.I no longer check my inbox. If you PM me I will not reply.
