Weight loss
My question is when you start to lose weight the fat burns first ? So at what point should I worry about muscle loss ?
My bmi is 31.8
I'm 5'11 228
BMI chart says I should weigh between 149-183 pounds .
Should I up my protein when I'm getting closer to the 200 pound mark ?
Just eating better eating less and moving more not lifting , only doing exercise bike and walking
Goal is 220 by turkey day
205 by new year
Not trying to get ripped just trying to lose weight and not lose too much muscle and get better mobility
I fast from 7PM-10am

I would definitely do some light weight training at least.
When you are in a calorie deficit... you need to give your body a reason to hold onto the muscle.
Muscle requires calories to maintain so if you eat at a deficit long enough your body will start to shed muscle in order to try to lower your daily calorie requirement.
