How seriously do you take the GI of foods?
I know when the GI first became popular, everyone was all about low GI foods. Then as time went on, it seemed to be over-rated, as the GI didn't take into consideration the fact that we know enough to not just eat carbs alone, and protein and fat slows digestion.
I've tried diets where I'm strict and eat yams rather than red potatoes, wholegrain basmati rice rather than white rice, etc. I never noticed any difference at all in terms of results.
Has anyone else experimented and noticed any significant different when eating lower GI foods vs higher?
