Is soy protein equal to whey protein (powder)?
So im financially in little bit of a pickle right now. Had some things i spent money on recently so i have a little dept to pay even and right now with my company doesnt have much work, might even have to start looking for new job soon if it doesnt get better.
So, I have noticed soy protein powder being substantially cheaper. I can get a kg of soy protein for 15 eur, but for whey its more like close to 25 eur per kg.
I have read that soy protein even though its not animal protein it has all 9 essential amino acids, so no problems in that department. Does that make it equal or almost equal to whey or is there some other negatives regarding plant protein?
As always, thanks for the replies

For starters, my body doesn't tolerate soy protein well. It goes out as fast as it goes in.
Edit: I can't imagine the soy protein stays in my system long enough for much absorption to occur.Last edited by almostgone; 07-11-2023 at 08:42 AM.

Avoid all soy at all cost. It is not good for estrogen levels.

U should avoid all powders. I know big guys incl pros use it (or they say), but its the drugs which make them big. Not powders.
My gurues/sources outside the the BB box, say your body only uses a fraction of powders, even high cost whey which some claims its bioavaiabelity is close to 100%.
When i think about it, i have never gotten more gains when i use powders.
For food, your best choice would be very fat proteinsources. Body cant use the protein from clean sources very well, so u have to eat ton of it.
Another moneysaving tip, is to eat it rare. Once a day. Then your proteinreceptors works much better.
Its a worse myth than bcaa that u have to eat protein every other hour. Thats the biggest dogshit advice there is. Our genens through millions of years didnt make us addicted to protein every second hour. If so, we would be erased long time ago.
Save your protein for dinner. 150 g quality fat source. Then ur GTG.
Just make sure to have a meal like 5 hours before your big dinner. Or else u will have nasty diareah
