Largest Source of Protein
Just wondering where you guys get most of your protein intake from. Personally i get mine most from shakes but i have about 3 a day, because i am around 200lbs at the moment. Also i love chicken and meat, and just starting to stomach tuna.
How do you bigger guys get like 350grams a day? Mostly shakes?
Just wondering because that's alot of protein

you really need to utilize all your protein sources. i need between 350-400 g/day. i eat at least one can of tuna, at least 2 quarts of skim milk, at least two meal reppacements, two servings of Nitrotech, at least one serving of chicken, a meal replacement bar, and a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter every day. you got the point. utilize fast food palces like subway. a roasted chicken 12" sub has like 50 g of protein. wendy's and mcdonalds chicken sandwiches have something like 30. usually you can eat two of those a day.

Come on Dane26 Mcdonalds?
Dane26 Come on McDonalds?
It may have 30 g of protein but look at the fat content as well. Don't get me wrong, I to grab a fast bite at fast food from time to time as well and it never bothered me at all when I was training in my 20's. But the older I get ( 37 as of Sept 2) I really have to watch my diet more than ever. Get in the habit of fixxen your own meals, it's a habit that you will be glad you developed when you get older. I'm not trying to flame you honestly, I guess that you just peeked my interest a little with your statement about fast foods.

Cottage cheese = Yucky? Try making a fruit salad. If you feel like cheating, you can add marshmellows. =X Cottage cheese + grapes, peaches, pears, pineapples, bananas = yummy. =D

You can get a Mc Donald's nutritional guide from their website.
http://www.mcdonalds.com/countries/u...cts/index.html
Here is the site. I am sure other fast foods has Nutritional Guides, I just searched Mickie d's site and found it. But I usually go to Slub Way!

Tobey, if you check the food profiles on AR, you will see that a chicken mcgrill w/o mayo has seven grams of fat and 26 grams of protein. that's pretty good. as for fixing my own meals, i try to as much as i can. infact, i usually make the meals you post. however, when you teach all day, then go immediately to grad school, then to the gym, while at the same time trying to keep your girlfriend happy, it's REALLY hard to cook for myself. Besides, i turned 23 two months ago and am really not super conerned with dieting right now. i don't compete, just workout to release some stress and make myself bigger and badder!
no flame intended and none taken!

Diets
I can really relate to school. When I was doing my undergrade at Auburn and working full time I to ate out almost every meal. I am working on starting my graduate work this spring and I just may wind up eating my own words about eating out.

I get the bulk fo my protein from chicken breasts, egg whites, tuna, shrimp, haddock and lean beef. I also consume 4 scoops of whey protein per day (4 scoops = 108g of protein)

1 very big roll
Low Fat Mature Chedder 100g Approx 6g fat

Big Al...what in the blue hell are Banna's?
Just bustin your balls bro, I'm forever missing keys on the keyboard. That along with the fact that my spelling is atrocious (ATROSHIS) makes me look like a bumbling fool sometimes. I was an English Major in University but if it weren't for spell check I'd be screwed. Actually BA I like the sound of your recipe...I'll give it a go.

Yeah Billy. Who is that "NEW" guy in your avatar. He sucks. I bet he would never win a contest.
One last comment...but IMHO one of the best overall sources of protein is fish. Very low protein to fat ratio (much lower than beefr and chicken) and some fish like salmon and pelagics (herring, sardines, mackerel) are very high in omega-3 fatty acids.

I like to go to my neighbors, sneak into his pasture at hight , kill and eat a cow or two. Ughhhh, Me love BEEF!
-
10-04-2001, 09:12 AM #25
Yeah beef is a pretty good source of protein but I think a lot of people stay away from it because of its fat.If you cook and trim it you can get rid of most of it.Hey DB on a couple of cows?-LOL
