Insurance denies bloodtests!
As if I didn't have enough BS to deal with. My insurance co sent me a letter stating that all my blood tests and dr. visits relating to HRT is not covered. I called them to see what the problem was and he said, "We do not cover fertility treatments, and thats what this was for, right?"
I told this blockhead that I had a vasectomy 4 years ago and don't plan on any more kids. Problem was I was feeling tired, crabby, gaining fat etc so my doc wanted to check test levels.
Guess the billing people at the dr are gonna work it out but this is just more crap to deal with

Sorry, Insurance Carriers were invented to take premiums and deny claims.

Makes me sick to think of what they would do if the claim was big bucks.
I sincerely hope you prevail.

All your Dr. has to do is order a complete work up and if asked why, tell them it's your annual physical or the he's monitoring you for whatever. Another option is to "evaluate" another Dr. in your plan and have him order the bloodwork as part of his patient eval. These are just 2 ways I've been told of. I will see what else I can get out of some people I know in the Ins biz and get back to you. If you want, email me. Your Dr. can contact them and tell them(the truth) it isn't about fertility, it's the main male hormone and he's concerned about a poss. deficiency. The symptomolgy requires the proper bloodwork. If he thinks you have gyno. he'd have to order the bloodwork, that's not fertility related. See where I'm going with this? Don't give up, we'll get you through it. Besides, there is always an appeal process but having your Dr explain to the ignorant fools is the fastest and easiest way.
