Is this price right for Androgel?

I just paid $472. for 60 doses of androgel 1% (5G) at CVS. I am supposed to use 2 per day so thats a 30 day supply! WTF!

Actually the price was $576 but my insurance covered $100. of it.

I knew the stuff was expensive but $472 for a month? Does that sound right?

    That stuff is awful.

You should ask your doctor about putting you on testosterone injections.

They are much more effective; and actually cheaper then transdermal patches.

Ouch! That's some serious profit going into their pockets. I'm with Kaiser, and when I was on that stuff I paid $25 for the same amount. Now I'm on the weekly cyp and so glad to be off gel. Sad thing is, I have two months worth of this stuff (AndroGel ) that I will never use still sitting in the boxes with the seals unbroken. Even if you could find it this cheap, I agree with the others, get the injections instead.

What a fvcking rip-off, because it's not available as a generic. When I had insurance i paid 10 dollars for a 10cc bottle of Test-Cyp which lasted me 3 months. You're getting taken to the cleaners. It's time to go injectable. I don't have insurance now and pay less than 60 for the same ammount. Tell your doctor that you dont want to have to pay over 7000 dollars for 1 years worth of medication when for pennies you can use and injectable form of testosterone . My treatment last year without insurance including syringes, alcohol pads and a sharps container and some A-dex was about 300 or so bucks, a drop in the bucket next to 7000.

Yep that sounds about right. Get injections. Without INS its going to run 100 dollars for 10cc bottle of 200mg / ml which can last a while. You can get it cheaper if you shop around. At least 20

Actually, I have BC/BS Premium plan and 1 month (4 bottles) of Androgel was $105 AFTER ins. Before ins was like $580!

And I agree 1000000% with the posters- Androgel is shiit! I'm on Test C now 150/wk and love it, but even 100mg EOW (50mg/wk) of test c was WAYYY better for my mood, libido, and energy than that androCRAP!
