Total test: 270. Should I consider HRT?

I just had my doctor test my testosterone levels and it came back at 270. There were no other measurements given for free testosterone , etc. This is really disappointing since I have never done AAS and have always been pretty healthy.

I'm 31 and haven't had any ED or anything like that but have noticed that recovery after weight training was taking a lot longer (sometimes three days of sore muscles after regular workout.) I'm also getting tired a lot.

Is there any way to kick start testosterone production without having to go on HRT for life? I'm also worried that if I do start HRT my natural hormone levels will be even worse after stopping.

Is it possible to afford testosterone treatments without insurance? If you go on HRT and lose your health insurance (job loss, etc) what is the cheapest way to stay on?

    Thanks

That is pretty low, but that is something your doctor will determine based on those values and symptoms. My levels have consistently been in the low 300 to 290's since I was about 25 but decided to hold off on going on HRT because the only symptoms I am having is fatigue thus far and I dont like the idea of being on something long term. You can still function, or at least I can at those levels. There are HRT clinics but are very pricey but generally have a better hrt program than just what your PCP would normally prescribe.

    Bro,

What are your stats? What is your diet? What is your stress level? Do you drink alcohol? What is your activity level? There are many things that can lower your test level that you may be able to fix.

Why did you have your t level checked to begin with?

Try to find out what is causing your t to be so low before you consider starting trt. I would also think you and your doc would want a full panel done to see the whole picture.

If all else fails, and you need trt to raise your levels then you will have all the info you need to make an informed decision.

    Hope that helps.
