endo says stop AI
OK,doing 180mg test cyp weekly, been doing .2mg anastrozole 5 days a week, now doc says wants me off the AI...current test is 1121, E2 was 32..dropping me to 160mg test, he says didnt intend for me to be on ai for this long, started TRT back in march...i have never had estrogen side effects but scares me to just stop altogether....is an AI a must?

interesting first post....dosages arent weird odd but just odd numbers....an AI is only a must if you need it...if the measurements are the same as most labs your 32 looks spot on....you dont mention how you feel with this dose? any gains? any sides from the test? did he say WHY he wants you off? how often do you do bloodwork? e2 anywhere from 20-50 should be ok if youre feeling good..
welcome....share a lil more bro

appreciate the input gentlemen....i see him every 3 months, so bloodwork about every 2 1/2 months...he said recent studies do not back up that higher estrogen being bad for men, says studies show keeping it low with AI is worse for you...he is a VERY updated endo, written books, works with pro athletes, etc so i am confident in him...i am feeling great, 51 yrs old, been working out for past 16 years 4 days a week i have made good gains over the past year..hoping drop to 160 mg test wont be to dramatic...thanks for all the feedback..

youre welcome and thank u as well for the post....so the 30 number alarmed him for it being low? and high estro is ok and low is worse....how high was your e2 on the last few tests? and can you compare any symptoms/gains/anything? in regards....i'll reread your post but how long also have u been on a little higher dose of test before this drop to 160...thanks again

i started ar 200 mg for 3 months and test level was 1500 e2 at 108...so dropped to 180mg and have been running for 3 months...says 1100 is too high, so dropped me to 160..i think his thought is it is a ratio thing that if test is slightly high it is ok to have higher estrogen levels higher, kinda a balance thing...he says he never intended me to be on AI forever, just while on higher test dose..just believes newer case studies show being on AI fulltime and keeping estrogen low is not good for a guys bones and also my lipid profiles were out of whack this last time he mentioned that too being a problem...

definately interesting...i have heard that long term arimidex could affect lipids but havent heard any up close and personal and myself i took a break from it and lowered my test as well....so youre fairly new to trt then so please keep THIS thread updated as we would have much to learn....where do you fill your test presciption and when you took the AI was it from the same...what have u noticed positively and/or negatively thus far

He should have no problem giving you the information on these studies so you can see for yourself. Don't just take his word for it.

well i have another friend who says his endo basically says the same thing...it is all about the ratio, so higher test levels = higher estrogen which is not a bad thing,,,guess it makes sense, the higher the test goes, it pulls the E2 up with it, so as long as it stays in proportion guess i can see it...i am weening myself off the anastrozole over the next month and then will just watch for signs and see what happens and let the doc know...i appreciate all the feedback..

Did he give you any idea what the ratio should be
