Need help with estradiol!
I just received my bloodwork results after 3 months on my new HRT protocol: 200 mgs per week test-cyp; 2 iu ed tev-tropin; 500 units HCG 2x per week; 0.5 mg anastrazole each week.
Overall I am very happy with my results. My total testosterone is in the upper end of the normal range (798 ng/dl). But my estradiol appears to be a little high (51 pg/ml).
My overall energy level, sense of well-being and libido are all vastly improved but I am having some trouble with ED.
I would be grateful for any feedback about what to do about my estradiol! I still have some room to improve with my total testosterone level but don't want to further increase my estradiol.
My comprehensive metabolic panel, lipid profile and blood cell profile are all excellent so I will spare you those results.
But here are my hormone results (Quest Diagnostics):
IGF1-1: 419 ng/ml (reference range: 46 - 284 ng/ml) YEAH!!
Total testosterone: 798 ng/ml (reference range: 250 - 1100 ng/ml)
Free testosterone: 235 pg/ml (reference range: 35 - 155 pg/ml) HIGH
Sex hormone binding globulin: 24 (reference range: 18-47 nmol/L)
vitamin D, 25-OH, total: 23 ng/ml (reference range: 30 - 100 ng/ml) LOW
TSH, T4, T3 all within range
T3 uptake: 37 (reference range: 22 - 35%) HIGH
DHEA sulfate: 306 mcg/dl (reference range: 25 - 240 mcg/dl) HIGH
LH: < 0.2 mIU/ml (reference range: 1.5 - 9.3 mIU/ml) LOW
Prolactin: 10.0 ng/ml (reference range: 2.0 - 18.0 ng/ml)
PSA: 0.7 ng/ml (reference range: <=4.0 ng/ml)
ESTRADIOL: 51 pg/ml (reference range: 13 - 54 pg/ml) HIGH END of REFERENCE RANGE
Thanks in advance for your feedback!

E2 sucks, get it down and I'm willing to be your Total Test goes up. This is what I was at...
Pre-TRT
TT- 498
E2- 56
250mg of Test-Cyp / weekly
300 IU of HCG 2X/weekly
1.5 Anastrazole weekly
10 weeks later
TT- 1500
E2- 38.4
I had to stop because my lipids were not looking so hot, then again I wasn't eating as well as I should....but I was eating much better and could've used more fish and veggies in my diet. Also my BF wasn't so hot which would explain why my E2 wasn't lower. I had to stop and start from zero again, yes it sucked. At least this time around I'm dialing back the Test to 200mg and HCG to 250iu instead of 300iu along with .5mg. I need to get my blood tested before I start up again.

Yes, as a matter of fact I am a special fan of the hot asian chick thread as well as redtube.com, etc! LOL!!
I should have mentioned in my post that since going on my new hrt protocol my blood pressure is elevated (145/95) and my resting pulse is too high (~ 100 bpm). Prior to hrt my resting pulse was ~ 65 - 70 bpm and my blood pressure was 140/85. So I don't know if the changes in hemodynamics play into the ED. I have gone from being able to do the deed 3 times in a couple of hours a year or two ago to needing pharmacological assistance to achieve that level of activity. But even that has become somewhat unreliable recently on occasion using cialis, viagra, etc.! Terrifying to me but humorous to my asian girlfriend who is significantly younger.
I was hoping that my performance issues were related to elevated estradiol which is one of the reasons i went for blood work. But I guess it could be due to my elevated blood pressure. Needless to say my confidence has taken a hit!
I will bump the anastrozole to 0.25 mg 3x per week.

I'm not a doctor but if you're like me the E2 looks like to cause of your issues. My E2 was higher than your's and gave me nasty anxiety attacks / panic attacks. I take Anastrozole .5 X3/week to control my E2. Your resting BP might be a sign of panic or anxiety attacks. High BP is usually from salt, being sedentary, too much fat, poor diet, etc. The posts above me are correct about donating blood, it will lower your BP a bit along with your RBC, Hemoglobin, etc. After I dropped my TRT because my T was bit too high, my RBC/Hemocrit/Hemoglobin all came down a bit.
Speak to your doctor about some medication to control your BP and Pulse. A tranquilizer like Ativan, Valium, Xanax are all used to treat anxiety and panic attacks. They'll take care of the high pulse, and mildly help with the BP. As for the BP, you might need a medication for that. High BP is not hard to treat, but can be a pain to isolate. Some tips my doctor gave me....
1. Cook as many of your meals as possible. If it comes in a box or a wrapper, and makes you want to eat 2...don't eat it.
2. Fast Food, fast death. Just watch the movie "Super Size Me", very interesting.
3. Fish, Fish Oil, Fiber, Oatmeal, Grains, all help greatly reduce your Cholesterol and help you get heart healthy.
4. Drink water, the more the better. Your body needs H20 to regulate sodium in your body as it will try to flush out excess.
5. If you spend more time at home on the internet than you do at the gym, your BP will go up eventually from not being active. (Makes perfect logic, sitting around will get you fat and effect your health)
6. Sweat- the best all natural BP medication God gave us.
7. Foods high in potassium help with High BP. Potassium works in synergy with Sodium, some diuretics are potassium based.
Hope this helps!
