    Accutane and TRT

I though I would post about this and maybe garner some other experiences as well.

I have been on TRT (200mg/wk, Test. Cyp.) for 3 years now and overall I feel great. No issues and blood tests have consistently come back normal. My only issue recently has been some back acne on my love handle area, ass and shoulders. these have always been problem areas for me as a youth (35 now).

Anyways, I recently consulted my dermatologist and he prescribed Accutane, knowing about my TRT. I am on 120mg/80mg every other day. So far I have experienced the chapped lips, but thankfully no other sides.

My question for anyone else who has used Accutane. If you come off of it, does the acne relapse? I have read that Accutane essentially shuts down the sebaceous glands...or is that only while on the meds? Also, if my doc decides to prescribe other compounds in the future, how would that affect the Accutane. Since I'm prone to acne, will I always have to deal with this?

Mainly looking for experiences and knowledge from anyone in the same boat!

Never used it while on HRT, but I did use it as a teen. Doctor prescribed it for several months after I was done I never had another problem.

Have you done any cycles while on HRT...basically elevating your levels and going back to HRT doses once done...there's a name for this now isn't there? I would imagine the elevation in levels would cause issues with the sebaceous glands, or are they shrunk permanently?

Never have cycled while on HRT (somewhat new to HRT). Thinking about it though. I believe Accutane permanently changes the skin... not 100% sure.

120mg-80mg EOD is a weird dose isn't it? I was prescribed 40mg ED when I was on accutane as a teen, and they stepped it up to 60mg ED for my final month.

Yeah, I think it is a bit unorthodox as well. I have my first follow up next Monday and I think he will be dropping me down to 80mg ED. I believe the reasoning was to basically "jumpstart" me to check my tolerance level, and now he will ease back and just go with a normal dose.
