    Help with TRT

    Hi.
Am 47. 6'0'' 250 muscular with moderate abdominal obesity.

    T total 219ng/ml nl range 280-1100
    Free 51.8 pg/ml nl range 50-210
Percent free 2.4% nl range 1.6-2.9%
    Bioavailable T 144.3ngdl nl range 130.5-680.7
    SHBG 17 nl range13-71
    LH 2.2 mu/ml nl range 2-12
    Estradiol 34 pg/ml nl range 18-42
    progesterone 0.3ng/ml nl range 0.1-0.2
    pituitary MRI normal
    PSA .95

I was wondering if I should start T replacement therapy or see if weight loss will result in bump of Total T by decreasing aromatase and E2 levels. Would appreciate any advice.

    Thanks in advance.

if youre having neg symptoms in addition to the visceral fat i wouldnt think an AI alone would help as much as a lil replacement test....especially when your e2 is already at a good level..you dont wanna drop much from there

youre 47 bro...give yourself a break and let science do some of the work for you
    best of luck

    Fell like Crap

Looking at these at my numbers it seems to me I have acquired secondary hypogonadism. I think my hypothalamus or Pituitary aren't producing enough LH to stim my nuts to produce T. I was thinking that maybe it was my elevated E2 levels that were inhibiting my hypothalamic-pituitary axis.

I have every single symptom of low T. I want my life back and if I can get my own gonads working to do it I would be happy. Maybe it is just a pipe dream and I should just go on the T replacement.

I was thinking of just trying some chrysin and tribulus and L carnitine along with cutting weight and seeing if that would do it. I am probably barking up a tree.

Get the HRT going and get it dialed in through bloodwork and your general feeling. Get a exercise and diet routine going and that belly fat will disappear, it wil seem slow at first but in 6-12 months you will be amazed what have 20 yrs old hormones will do for your body and mind. I wish I had started it in my 40's instead of 50's after getting test levels up I found out I didnt need Viagra or any ED medicine and it was amazing how easy it is turn burn fat and get the ole body lookin good again. Its just so much easier for a doctor getting kick back on ed meds to right a script for that than it is for testosterone . The feds look at testosterone scripts but not at ED scripts so they have no explaining to do and most men are happy with the ED meds. Fix the problem, dont just put a bandaid on it. I did the tribulus and anything that would help raise my test for years and had some success, but eventually you will need the real thing. You are better off getting it right now than to suffer though depression, getting fatter and just not feeling up to snuff.

All good advice, and welcome. JP hit it on the head about your E2 number, if it were high I would say to try an AI first. but it is not. I guess you have found a friendly doctor?

Got to agree with all above. After mid twenties we all go downhill Our testosterone levels decrease over a period of time and we dont notice it right away. It kind of creeps up on you. Be aware you are not alone. there are several at my age 26 and younger that already through no fault of their own had to turn to TRT. Stuff happens but at least the medical community has been catching up on this and is better able to help us out if we ask......see you doctor. There is no shame in taking shots for TRT. If you want to feel like us younger guys then just do it. I'm not there yet but believe me when it happens I'll be knocking the damned door down to get my pharm grade test.
