    TRT an the Inner Self

I've looked through several forums for a possible answer but no luck.

I have a question regarding the mental effects of TRT. When you finally hit the sweet spot and all is in sync for a while, did you get a feeling of change in your inner self? I know that my T level has always been low. I never filled out body wise, I lacked coordination and I suffered from depression and SAD. Very insecure, I guess.

Move forward 2 years. TRT in sync, I hit the gym, I gained about 30 lbs of muscle, and my coordination has improved. Depression fading. What I find odd is that I am willing, if not eager, to attempt more manly things, such as hunting and other outdoor sports, that I would have never attempted in the past for fear of failure or just plain lack of interest.

In short, I feel like i have misses nearly 30 years of one important part of life, and now I feel the desire to catch up and try new things. My wife and daughters give me crazy looks when I try new things but seem to like the change.

The question...is this because of TRT, and did any of you experience this change of disposition?

Hell yes Bro!! I lived a life of ambition before my T problems and then suffered for several years before I realized what was causing me to feel not only like shit but feel shitty about myself and life in general and now I'm back at it, and if something isnt just right I can tell by my mood.........T is extremely important in MANY ways, not just the gym.

Go make up for lost time my friend.

I've noticed a huge improvement since starting TRT, and it was recently re-emphasized as I started tapering off my test C as I was planning on joining the Air Force. I was miserable, didn't want to have sex, started losing muscle and gaining fat. The Air Force thing fell through so I went back on full TRT again and in weeks my libido was back, body started filling out, and I have the drive to exercise almost every day.

    It's a pretty incredible difference.

Thanks for the quick replies and validation. Everything you've said so far hits right on the target. I'm telling you and anyone else who is in the position to need T help that the deficiency of it f***s up everything about you, and you don't even know it. You have a lot of ambition but are either fearful of failure or u jut don't know how to move on it. It's affected even the types of clothing I wear and the types of TV I watch. Hell, i even recently traded my vehicle for the truck I always wanted but couldn't position myself mentally to take the plunge. And I'm 45!

It's amazing how one hormone controls so much and is so controversial.

I'm not losing it...thanks for assuring me of that.

yup! i started to get depressed feeling old and broken, then stumbled on this site, so i hit the diet and worked my ass off for 2 years then started TRT, it took some time to adjust to the TRT life style, but now I'll never go back! definitely changed my life and looking forward to get what i always wanted, 6 pack!

BTW, what is your dose now if you don't mind me asking?! and good for you for taking charge of your life!

After my first 10 weeks I felt better than I have in years. However, be wary of what the clinic tries to push on you,on the second round I had a bad experience with stanozlol (winstrol ). Headaches and serious joint pain. Quit taking it and have been feeling good again.

I have read all about hormone levels and how they affect mood, etc., but I was absolutely shocked at how much better I felt after getting on TRT. And it was things that I never thought would be affected, too. I was able to get to sleep more easily because my mind was calmer. I tasted food better. I had fogotten how things used to be before my hormone levels got whacked.

My clinic never pushed anything on me except the T protocol. AI came later after I got gyno symptoms (I was warned to look out for it and call at the first symptom which I did). I got HCG on my second visit but that was at my request. I've said this before, I think clinics that also sell the drugs should be avoided if possible. Sometimes they are your only option, but if possible. If someone makes money off of the prescription too, it's just too much of a temptation to over prescribe. Also, if they don't write a script for you you can't fill it at a cheaper place.

My wife certainly noticed a difference in me after getting on TRT. She had wondered about me and also about herself during that period of time when I probably needed to be treated, but had not been diagnosed. TRT has been a life changer for me and also for our relationship. Really, just about everything is better because of TRT. Mood, workout capability, energy, libido, confidence, etc. My only (somewhat irrational) fear now is not being able to get legit meds for some reason.

It took me about a year to get it right...I take 100 mg of Test C every 3.5 days, and with one of those doses I take 1000 mg of B12 and 25 mg of DHEA (both of these thanks to Vetteman's advice). I also take .5 mg of Arimisex EOD. I go through my PCP who took me on after my urologist got me started. If my ranges stay in top 90% on all T levels I'm fine. Have to keep estradol in high teens as well. I also have a low SHBG so we monitor that too. Agree that mood is a strong indicator of everything. Never consideed a tat...at least yet lol.

A tat huh? I guess after pinning yourself a bunch of times a tat seems less daunting.
