Oh hell no! Imagine not having the ability to deal with this issue. Our generation is extremely fortunate to be able to deal with this in a legitimate, professional and safe manner. If your middle aged, think of your parents who just had to accept these debilitating issues as "getting older" and had no recourse whatsoever. That is what I would regret.....

It's a huge decision. Injecting on a routine basis is a lifestyle which requires many changes to sustain. Certainly something to reflect on...good topic op

You go on hrt because you need it to feel normal, why on earth would you regret feeling normal and not having sides of low testosterone . Why would you ask such a question?

Only regret not knowing that I should have done it sooner. I "lost" 5 years of my life, or more, because the doctors didn't think to test my levels.

I am reluctant because my symptoms are not that bad. I have lack of motivation, problems with concentration, and fatique, and I stay sore for too long. All of these are manageable for me. I am interested in HRT for the benefits. I am 32 and look 17. I have a very hard time maki haveing gains. Iiiiiii

Oops.... my phone locked up. Basically, I have borderline low T. I look young and do not gain muscle well. I know my total test is in thelow 300's. I am waiting for the labs from my endo now. I think I will be approves. I just don't know if my reasons justify HRT.

Up to you but your situation sounds similar to mine except I'm 44 (and look 30). Similar symptoms and my total T is around 400.
I'm going for it. I want to be pro active in battling the symptoms of aging. I was also having issues with reduced libido; which was a considerable factor.

Kinda the same boat. Im 27 my levels are 450ish. Low for my age but having all the same symptoms. I was kind of thinking along the lines as scaredycat in post 11. I am currently seeing a doc and we are going through the motions. I just had more blood work done on tuesday. I dont have any kids and want them someday, thats why If i decide to go that route I will put my boys on ice and take hcg as well. I defiantly like the thread and cant wait till we get more responses in here.

I can only imagine several reasons someone would regret it.
1. They shouldn't have gotten on in the first place, or
2. They had a bad protocol
3. They did not follow a good protocol correctly
4. They got on hrt, and changed nothing else in their lifestyle.
IMHO

I would agree in that it's a life-long decision and there's a lot of personal responsibility that comes with it. You certainly can't do this half-ass and you must become well-educated on the subject. You're either fully in or out; there's no in between on this. Believe it or not, there are a lot of people out there that can't handle such a rigorous, personal commitment.
I have a friend that is faced with this diagnosis. He's been told his Test levels are shit and he does nothing about it. All he does is complain to me that he's fvcking fat, has no motivation & has no desire to bang his new wife. They want kids too & she's having trouble getting pregnant which only complicates it further. I've told him what he needs to do until I'm blue in the face. Yet he chooses to do nothing.
As a result, I'm convinced there are simply some people that can't follow through on anything in their lives & TRT may not be a viable option for them due to the personal responsibility it demands.
I was diagnosed early, took this treatment very seriously & haven’t looked back since. A huge improvement. Life is great, period.Last edited by APIs; 08-19-2011 at 11:36 AM.

I'm 45 and I am convinced that I never got completely through puberty till about 3 years ago when my T levels got to the top 25% quartile and my E2 got to the bottom 25% quartile...and I'm not joking either. A prostate cancer scare got me into the doctor about four years ago, and had we not run all of these tests I would still be in a sh*thole. So don't ever look back. Just do it and follow with your doctor just as you would if you were diabetic or anything else that's similar. It will drastically change every aspect of your life; however, don't expect the change to happen overnight. I'm still experiencing changes four years later.

Well, I regret going on HRT when I did, if I wasn't such a hard headed bastard always thinking I'm tough and don't need anything from a doctor and "it will be fine" attitude about my health......I would've discovered my problem and corrected it 6+ years sooner!!!!! That's the only regret I have about TRT....6 LOST YEARS!! But the future is bright my friend!

Something to add: Sadly, you have to take this journey alone because the average Joe automatically thinks that TRT is really steroids ...blah blah blah...my wife, doctor and pharmacist know my "secret"...and this board LOL....point here is that narrowmindedness shouldn't deter you.

Hi guys, I am new to this site and so far reading makes a lot of sense, I am 42 nearly 43 I inject myself every two weeks with humira from my docs it is a imune system represant due to an illness I have , no big deal tho , I used to be on quite a few things about 10 years ago and climbed from 12 stone to 15 over that time , which i was happy with, i stopped about 5 years ago still work out and have kept myself around 14 stone, still happy.
Not happy however with my libido, lack of strength and general motivation and energy levels. I put it down to low test due to age, I dont just want to grab some gear as a quick fix, what does anyone suggest ? any help gratefully accepted.

Assuming HRT is an acceptable practice across the pond (in the US here), first step is to see a doc and get some hormone blood level tests done. Go from there, based on what the results show.

One of the best decisions I've ever made.
Sure, it sucks that I need TRT, but I'm damn glad I'm on it now. Literally every aspect of my life has improved.
