Ejaculation raises PSA level for 24 hours!

Guys i was doing some research on prostate and leaned that ejaculation will raise the PSA level significantly for 24 hours especially in men over 50! so if you are doing a blood test for PSA make sure no sex for at least 24 hours, or to play it safe 36 hours! Just FYI...

WEnt to urologist two weeks ago, he was zero help with trt, however I did have the displeasure of his arthritic knuckle sausage finger up my ass... (WEnt in with testicles aching... SO he checked them and my prostate...) SAid my prostate was a little soft. SAid I had a little prostitus... ADvised thirty minute hot bath every day. Said could take anti inflamatory and he could prescribe antibiotic but didn't think It was necessary... I've never had psa done in any of my blood work, I JUst wonder if there is any correlation?

NOte also several days after my exam and the baths when I had a bmovement there was some blood in it... Only lasted about 10hours and hasn't happened since....

I read to be super safe make it 72 hours. That standard recommendation is 48hrs.

It's true, it also 'significantly" rises whenever the gland is manually manipulated through a digital exam or otherwise...

    Kid you not.

Especially if they linger during that damn exam! I just went through the same scenario where I did the deed the day before, not knowing at that time it would effect psa. My psa came back at 1.0. It has consistently been .5 or .6 since starting trt. Gonna get scoped soon anyway, cause it's time, but it did cause a short scare until I researched it a bit.

blood in the stool could be many thing, like hemorrhoids, cyst or cancer, but cancer blood usually makes the stool black, real dark. if its fresh blood (red) then it could be internal hemorrhoids. if i were you i would definitely ask to get scoped just to make sure.

This is not going to make my wife happy. I'm not sure she can go 36 hours.

the first thing and most important thing when shopping for a urogist, is to look at there fingers, , if you walk in to a new doc and he's 6,8 , and is 350 lbs, and his hands look like a lumber jacks hands , run for the f***ing door, cause your gonna have a sore assh***, if you stay.....lol

I have a friend that once told me that he couldn't understand how his doc could have a hand on each of his hips and still reach a finger up there..........I told him to find a new dentist!!

That's some funny stuff. Neither of my docs like doing that check on their patients and have said as much. Will keep the 72 hours in mind...didn't know that.

    unreal what you learn here!

My doctor said when I first saw her that maybe I should get to know her better before I was comfortable enough to do the test...I said, "Just do it already"..so I get in the position...she puts her finger in position and only a woman doctor would say this but she said..."Push"...

    OMG..

Yes, doc? push..should I say please?

Makes great date conversation..I told this hottie I was dating this story and she almost needed oxygen as she was unable to breath from laughing so hard.."Push"
