Interesting question.
As much as I love this place, I would not take advice on what to do with my 16 year old son from anyone other than a highly qualified specialist.
I am NOT a highly qualified specialist, but I cannot imagine Test injections kick starting his own system. Usually the body sees exogenous testosterone as a reason to shut down the body's natural production...not a reason to increase it.

Sorry to hear this. Has your medical team ran labs and MRI's to see if there are any conditions with the pituitary or testes? I don't foresee them medicating exogenous testosterone for the purpose of restarting his natural production, but they may be looking at clomid, hcg or hmg therapies, depending on the diagnosis.

Considering injecting testosterone shutsdown systems (HPTA), I would think that the preferred thing to kick start is the pituitary's LH production or the hypothalamus' GnRH production which will start LH production.
Either way, hormones are not a pediatrician's specialty. Check with an endo, one who has worked with puberty issues. Go from there.

It's late and needs confirmation that it's not an endocrine GH issue...better safe then sorry.
Plus, put yourself in this poor kids shoes guys; all his friends probably look 5 years older or more then he does now...playing on his young psyche for sure...it would have for me that's for sure.
Reference the links above and use Google to help guide you to the correct care.
It's more then just Testosterone or hCG .Last edited by steroid.com 1; 11-30-2011 at 03:27 PM.
