hcg mono?
Hey everyone,
I don't post here much, but am constantly reading up on everything. I notice there are really some knowledgeable guys here, especially commenting on hrt. I have a question for you.
I have been having libido, interest and drive problems since I've been in my 20's (28 now). I chalked it up to just overworking and not really giving a crap generally. Well I've noticed it getting worse and I've had my total testosterone checked 3 times in this past year and never came up with anything over 450 ng/dl (labcorp range 348-1197) I recently went in for a 4th round of labs, this time I insisted on a full profile from the stickies here, was like asking for perscribed hgh or something geez.
My question is because I think the value is too low and am starting to get new symptoms. Pending my next tests showing increased values...would hcg alone for 4-6 weeks be of benefit to try at this point? I've been reading guys that are secondary hypo can benefit from trying to restart with either hcg or clomid etc. I am going to be moving and changing jobs within the next 2 weeks so I won't be able to get blood work done for a little while too so that's a concern. I have a feeling I will be a legitimate candidate for hrt in the coming years, but would like to put that off if at all possible until necessary.
Thanks for the help guys.

Are you secondary or primary?
You have to post your LH/FSH levels.
If they are low then HCG might work for you (secondary).
If they are high then you are primary and it wont work.
At 450 its going to be difficult to get a doc to prescribe TRT for you.

Agree that it would be good to see some of your lab results. Some doctors will prescribe based upon your symptoms even though you appear to be low in the normal range. OTOH...some doctors won't prescribe if you are anywhere in the normal range.
But...at age 28...you are young to be having libido problems.

Yea I will post the full results after I get them back. Hoping they come back better, but not really counting on it lol. I agree on the libido problem, it's really getting old. My recovery from workouts has always been great so this all just kind of snuck up on me. I'll keep you guys posted, but I know what you mean about having a doc look at hrt when I'm within normal ranges.
Thanks

Have you considered Cialis for daily use?

Get a full set of bw done then see if you can find out whats wrong. Could be something as simple as diet.
HRT is life long and there no long term studies on the use of HCG so its still an unknown.
Also what time you get your work done can impact T levels. In the morning its higher than later in the day.
The other consideration is cost. Many insurance companies will not cover HCG. Its not cheap either unless you get it from shady websites which are also having supply problems.
My last vial of HCG was $170 bucks from CVS.

Agree that there are a lot of other variables to factor in here. E2 (high or low) could be one, prolactin another, and always look at the general overall picture of your lipids, CBC's, and metabolic panels. Also, 450 on your total serum can go pretty far if your free testosterone is above average, so factor that into your panels as well.

wow, that's a lot for hcg ! When I mentioned it, I didn't mean having it prescribed, so my cost would be a lot less there. I've been reading up on guys having decent numbers after 200-250iu e3d for 4-6-8 weeks etc, so I thought this could be a decent alternative to life long test dependency and blood work.
I've heard the diet thing as well, but I don't know really. I'm not here looking for a reason to jump on self trt or to convince myself it's the right choice, because I really don't think it would be. I will definitely post the bw results as soon as I get them and thanks for the replies guys! Much appreciated!!

kelkel, I actually did try cialis once and it didn't really help with desire so I haven't used it again. My issue is drive and wanting to 'get going' lol

vetteman, all my other bw check outs great. I had all that done as far as metabolic panel, lipids etc and for some reason that was why my doctor was very hesitant to talk with me on my testosterone levels . He wanted to drill it into my head that I'm a 'very healthy young man' lol. Looking forward to seeing what the free comes back at for sure.
