I am on HRT, looking for advice
Hi
I 've been for 8 months on HRT for hypogonadism, but i don't feel the benefical effects of the tratment, both on libido, depression, body fat.
A little about me.
I'm 29 years old, my weight is 112kg and my height is 1.65m. I've been training powerlifting for 11 years so most of my weight is muscle, but even without knowing my BF% (my doctor says it doesn't matter) i assume i have from 10 to 20kg of BF.
I have Mayor depressive disorder and i'm on tratment for that condition with psychiatric medication. By the way , my hypogonadism appeared after a psychiatric malpractice.
That malpractice gave me diabetes also, so i am on metformin 750mg 2x day
My HRT protocol is Testoviron (testosterone enanthate ) 250mg every 3 weeks
Here are my lab tests, all the reference ranges are both for man and woman
My first analysis Date 11/21/11
FSH 2.5 mUI/ml 1.1 - 10.8
LH 2.30 mUI/ml 1.7 - 8.6
Estradiol 48 pg/ml 20 - 60
Testosterone 2.30 ng/dl 3 - 9
Testosterone Bioav. 1.3 ng/dl 1.2 - 6.3
IGF-1 140 ng/dl 115 - 500
PRL 11.6ng/dl 2.5 - 17
T4 6 ug% 4.5-12.5
TSH 7.2 uU/ml 0.4 - 4.0
Last analysis Date 05/15/12
Estradiol 55.0 pg/ml 20 - 60
Testosterone 2.85 ng/dl 3 - 9
Testosterone Bioav. 1.3 ng/dl 1.2 - 6.3
T3 80 ng% 80 -172
T4 4.4 ug% 4.5-12.5
TSH 4.0 uU/ml 0.4 - 4.0
Free Testosterone 65.2 pg/ml 55 - 270
PRL 12.2ng/dl 2.5 - 17
IGF-1 267ng/dl 115 - 500
SHBG 14.9mmol/l 13 -70
After my last analysis my doctor tell me that i was ok and i can take the injection every 4 weeks if i like, but i said that i will continue with the starting protocol (every 3 weeks)
I look for a seccond opinion, so i went to an andrologyst who said that i don't qualify for HRT because testosterone level are good and told me, as the other doctor that testosterone levels doesn't decrease by age. Also, this doctor ask me if i had a girlfriend. I said no, because i don't have one, and he replied "So, why do you care? What is the problem?" I don't knew what to say.
Any suggestion?

Both of your doctors are clueless assholes just like 99.9% of them worldwide! You should be injecting test enanthate once a week at the absolute minimum. No wonder you are feeling so bad injecting 250mg every 3 weeks. Your test levels climb high in the beginning and then at the end of the 3 weeks your test levels are very low! You need to keep your hormone levels as stable as possible to feel good.

Thanks Dan! I supposed that. But I'm not sure if i need an aromatasa inhibitor like anastrozol, because if you see, my estrogen level is at the top of the range while the testosterone value is at the bottom. Im no expert, but i believe that the testosterone is aromatizing a lot because of my body fat, and that's a vicious circle. But i don't believe that a doctor would give an aromatase inhibitor

Could be but i would start by taking 40mg-50mg test every 3.5 days and see how you feel. If you still test high on E2 then think about adding an AI. The fact that you are injecting 250mg i one hit and then waiting 3 weeks for another big hit of test is taking your hormone levels on a rollercoaster ride. You will notice much more stable levels by injecting every 3.5 days. If your doc won't let u do ur own injects, just try to get hold of some test enanthate or test cypionate and do it yourself. Last time i checked it wasn't too difficult to get these in or into Buenos Aires.

You've got Thyroid issues that if corrected could possibly clear up your androgen deficiency.
