Taking testosterone to boost natural levels of test?
Hi, i'm new to these forums.
Here is my story. I have the tall skinny but semi chubby body type. I have a really hard time building and gaining muscle. I love to go to the gym and work out, but i just can't build strength and gain muscle like other people. My bench is 155 for a few reps and my deadlift max is 225 for one rep.
/In january of this year i noticed a steady decline in my sex drive up until the point of where i did not desire sex at all. I got an appt with my family doctor and after asking several times i got a referal to a Urologist. Upon seeing the urologist and having a blood test done i was diagnosed with high levels of prolactin and low test for my age. I got an MRI done in search of a putuitary tumor and came up with nothing thankfully. The DR. also discovered i have variococells which might inhibit my natural test production. The Urologist then told me to take gingko biloboa for 2 months to see if that increased my test and decreased my prolactin.
A few weeks ago i went back and got my blood test again and the gingko actually did lower prolactin and raise my test a bit. I actually felt a difference to because my sex drive was getting slightly better after being nonexistant for months and months. Now my doctor is telling me to stop taking the gingko and to come back in 3 months for another blood test to see if my levels stabilized and to see if I need Testosterone gel.
I asked if i would have to be on Test for life and he said " no, sometimes the body just needs a little kick to jumpstart it's own natural test production." I never heard of that before, from what i read on here " once you are on TRT it's for life". Is this true? Do you guys think i should go see another urologist or just wait it out and see what happens in October when i go back?

Agreed. Find a new doctor.
Taking exogenous Test can't kick start your system. It will shut down your natural production. Kick starting would involve taking other drugs to stimulate natural production...but not Test.

Dave,
Post your initial blood work for others to see and provide feedback.

Look for a new guy, test will shut down what is left. The right guy could get you feeling better.

Test will shut you down, clomid might help "jumpstart" so to speak. But I dont know why youd be shutdown? I think you just have low t. Post bloodwork
