the levels have gone down slightly since then but they are still elevated. should i be worried? I read online that high levels can be from muscle damage. does that mean they may just be high because i lift five days a week and its normal?

Are you taking any other drugs, supplements, or hormones? What about alcohol intake?

I was going to ask the same thing HRT asked. Did they double check you for hepatitis?

Numbers high but nothing absurd. Many things can cause them to be elevated, you said no alcohol, but meds (spec pain relevers) statins many things even otc supps can cause a rise. Remember high numbers do not indicate liver damage, just something may be an irritant. Keep an eye on, keep getting tested but I wouldnt lose sleep at these levels.

Elevated liver enzymes are not a function of liver health per se as it is a marker for inflammation in the body.

Bullshark has it correct; they are elevated but nothing to get to worried about.

they did go up even after treatment. my guess is the creatine! that crap is hard on the kidneys, and judging from your GFR reading being borderline. so when your kidneys don't do a good job detoxifying your blood due to thy heavy load from consuming creatine, it could be putting a huge load on your liver! also just the fact creatine is an oral supplement that alone is putting a load on your liver.

alright i am going to keep an eye on them, its probably either the creatine or the large amount of zoloft im on. i read that zoloft can cause elevated liver enzymes.

Great point Bass!!!!!! I too had a kidney function test Bun, GFR and one other slightly out of whack, all came down to the creatine I was using. Would be careful with that stuff, I never saw anything other than a placebo effect but yet it puts alot of stress on the kidneys!

my kidneys always been on the weak side, my doc looks at the test results and the first thing he asks is "do you take creatine?" its a known fact that creatine puts a huge load on kidneys.
