agree... with 3 of these. whats cia? not cialis correct????

That blood pressure its actually pretty high, but that could also, had something to do with what, you had to eat before you went to Er and the time of the day, ... best time to check bp is first thing in the morning, right after you wake up , then several more times during the day, just to see the difference, from the morning...if its still that high, i would see a doctor right away.

OP, run your labs and check CBC's, Thyroid panels, lipids, kidney in the metabolic panel (and ALT/AST), and PSA with a thorough prostate exam (You will thank me later).

It's usually good to get in the habit of donating blood while on HRT, as RBC and hematocrit levels increase. I've noticed my BP got a little better when I started doing it on a regular basis.

As TR stated, sodium intake needs to be regulated, exercise needs to be in play, and you should avoid alcohol consumption, especially if you're taking any medications that could be stressing your liver.

Please tell us your stats and little more about yourself ... Thanks

TR can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he's referring to a low dose of Cialis.

If your doctor puts you on Cialis, also take a look at Doxacard (1mg to 2mg), which is an alpha blocker to treat hypertension and prostate issues.

You were having a severe allergic reaction with HYPERtension? Hmmm...

I'm assuming this wasn't actually anaphylaxis?

interesting....on the lower dosage of cialis, never heard of that before.. Times Roma care to explain, how low dosage of cialis would lower blood pressure???? i actually thought, cialis or anyother medication for erectile dysfunction would actually raise your blood pressure, BUT if thats not the case, then thats a good way for me to lower my blood pressure, and keep my wife happier when im not on test :-)

Huh? Prostate exam? Checking for an enlarged prostate? Im due for my bloodwork the first week in October. I will have the Doc check all these. I have been on Androgel 1.62% for almost 4 weeks. I looked up the most common side effects for this and high blood pressure and mood swings were numbers 1 and 2. I have both. I have been doing a lot of cardio, thought that would lower it. A lot of stress at work. I will get my BP checked tomorrow. If its still high i will have to move up my appt. I have no reason to take cialis, if the wind blows the right way i go from 6 to 12. Thanks for the replies fellas.

If I'm not mistaken allergic reactions elevate the BP, as long as you aren't going into shock from anaphylaxis.

Yes, prostate exam! Any doctor in the know will check your prostate prior to going on HRT, then at the first round of checkups. Testosterone can play havoc on a troubled prostate, so most docs will want to know that there's no prostate problems going into therapy, and double check it the first round.

And your answer about Cialis is just an ego statement! You wanted legit answers and you got them. Do some research on PDE-5 inhibitor therapy, such as a 'small' dose of cialis, complimented with doxacard, and educate yourself on the benefits it can have with helping on BP.

Viagra and Cialis were both developed while try to formulate a bp med. The "side effect" they give is what's made them so popular but their original purpose was to reduce bp, although there are many other drugs that are much more effective.

They reduce bp because they're vasodialators ie. they open blood vessels and if the same amount of blood has a larger area to flow through then pressure is reduced.
