No Need to Aspirate for SubQ?
I have done considerable reading, and gathered up much conflicting info. But I believe I have ferreted out "the truth", but would love some vets to confirm or refute. Is this true:
If you are doing SubQ injections, there is no need to aspirate because your odds of hitting a vein are slim to none?
IM injections are more prone to hit veins, so aspirating if you do IM is a reasonable idea.
Currently, I inject Test E. 2x per week with a 27 gauge 1/2" "allergy" syringe. I alternate quadriceps, and am confident my injection site and needle choice makes it SubQ. I was aspirating, but it is hard as hell to do when I inject my left quad, and jostling the needle with my novice form makes the experience unpleasant. Soon I will be adding hCG to the mix with insulin syringes (29g 1/2"), and want to say to hell with aspirating altogether. Any thoughts?Last edited by junk2222yard; 10-16-2012 at 07:59 AM. i believe you are correct about not needing to aspirate for subQ injections.
however, i question why you are trying to do a subQ injection in your quad. subQ should be in a "fatty" area - think "love handles".

No need to aspirate doing SQ into a fat pad; I don't think I've done it once in almost 4 years.
Just stay away from the belly button; there are nerves and many blood vessels in that area...better in the love handles to be honest.

Interesting - I've been injecting HCG alternately on the left and right side of my belly button. Not RIGHT next to it, but 1-2 inches on either side, pinching the belly fat, and injecting. I should go for the love handles instead? God knows I have plenty there as well. Just went with the belly fat as I used to watch a diabetic inject his slin there all the time.

To be honest gb, any fat pad will do; the stomach is just an easy place to do it.
The belly button has a lot of bundled nerves, blood vessels and veins surrounding it so there is greater risk of hitting one of these which of course wouldn't feel to hot.
Pinch the love handle and have at it...no pain and really easy.

^^ will do Wednesday. If things go as planned, by next spring there won't be any lovehandle whatsoever to pinch!

my x clinic instructed me to do IM injections and they said no need to aspirate , of course i didn't listen and aspirated anyway. the point is even IM is hard to hit a vein if you do it in the right spot, upper outer corner. i been doing SQ for over 6 months maybe more and not once i aspirated, in fact i think only once i got blood coming out as i pulled the needle, but even that it was a small drop! i SQ anywhere i can find fat just to alternate, its works, just see my latest blood work.

Would love to go subQ with test, but was always leery about it 'working'. What size pins are you using for SubQ?

28g x 1/2" slin pin. GB, been doing 50 mgs e3d and my total came back over 900, and my free 1.5 times the normal. just switched to 50 mgs every 3.5 days.

another thing GB, i only take 0.25 mg AI once after every shot and my e2 sensitive assay is at 23 range 3-70, dropping my test or doing it every 3.5 days in stead of e3d will probably drop AI even further or simply stop it completely. the longer you are on TRT the less you'll need AI.
