Cycle to TRT question
Hi Everyone,
I'm a 52 year old male in pretty good shape. I recently noticed some diminishing abilities so I a ordered saliva test for testosterone online and the score came back 61, which I believe is lowish. I plan to do TRT, but where I live there are no facilities for it (i'm on a small Hawaiian island), so I may try to DIY, depending what my insurance covers and what is the most economical- I'll get info for that next week.
I also want to do a 500mg a week Test E cycle before the TRT to put on some solid muscle that will last for a few years. My question is should I do PCT after the cycle or just immediately reduce to the advised Test amount according to the BW that I'll have done? I plan to post the BW results here when I get them. What I'm also curious about is I've seen advice here that no PCT is necessary for those on TRT. Why is that? I thought the function of PCT was to restart testicular function, and I don't know why it's different for those who plan to do TRT afterwards. Thanks for you help.

Whether on a cycle or TRT for the rest of your life, you are putting exogenous test into your body and therefore shutting down your body's natural test production. With TRT you are replacing your body's test so there wouldn't be a need for pct. Anyhow, doing PCT would only get you back to what you are saying is already a low test production.

Welcome Hawaii. Post up your current BW with ranges and let us take a look. What TennT said above is correct. When on TRT or a cycle your HPTA is shut down. TRT'ers won't be re-starting therefore pct is just not necessary. Testicular function is maintained with HCG , which mimics LH and keeps the testies functional. There is a sticky at the top of the forum on HCG.
Adept non-TRT'ers who cycle will use HCG during their cycle to maintain some testicular function to make pct more effective and efficient. Remember that cycling will do nothing for you unless your nutrition and training is on target.
Welcome to our world Hawaii! Read all the stickies!
