TEST blood work
Hi I was curious about my levels, so I got a test thru privatemdlabs. My stats are 32 y/o Male 6'2" 215 lbs. How do my results look?
Result UNITS REFERENCE INTERVAL
Testosterone , Serum 394 ng/dL 348-1197
Testosterone, Free 15.88 ng/dL 5.00-21.00
% Free Testosterone 4.03 % 1.50-4.20

Total stinks. Scale is Labcorps normal range. Free is fine. For your age I would expect your total to be higher. How do you feel?
Many things play into test levels. We/you really need to see more complete blood work to give a good analysis. Take a look at the Finding a Doc sticky at the top of the forum for more blood work.
Welcome to the forum calicp! More will chime in as well!

I don't feel as strong as I used to in the gym. I am not as motivated as I once was. Seems like most of my fat accumulates around my mid section while other parts of my body stay fairly lean. Some days I have some energy other days I feel beat. My sex drive feels decent. Early 2006 I had testicular torsion, but not sure that would have anything to do with low total test.
I had other blood work done by my doctor few weeks ago. I just got the Testosterone test done by myself because she didn't really want me to get it because she said I was too young. Here are the ones she did:CBC (INCLUDES DIFF/PLT), COMPREHENSIVE METABOLIC PANEL, LIPID PROFILE, TSH, URINALYSIS, COMPLETE. Would any of these help you out? If so let me know i can post them.Last edited by calicp; 12-11-2012 at 04:23 PM.

Age really doesn't have much to do with a problem arising. Your doc should not have been so dismissive. Best thing would be to post everything with ranges so all can see and contribute. I'd be interested in TSH and any other thyroid panels that may have been pulled as hypothryoid can / will cause hypogonadism. LH/FSH, Cortisol, anything.
I still think you should be higher based on your age and if you exhibit symptoms, as stated, then the issue should be looked into more thoroughly by your doctor.

So do you think I should find a TRT doc? I read thru your document about finding a doc and went to the hormone. o r g site what drop down do i select on conditions to find someone who is HRT/TRT related?
On my blood results couple of my lipid results are high, but I think it might have to do with I started a Keto diet maybe 1 week before I tested to drop the excess mid section fat. Anyway, here are my test results:

This----> "Early 2006 I had testicular torsion, but not sure that would have anything to do with low total test".
With a history of Testicular Torsion I would suspect you'd want to rule this out.
Usually, Testicular Torsion only effects one testicle but it may/can cause a reduction in androgen production till it's corrected.
The blood work you posted doesn't help us.
See kel's sticky on finding a TRT Doc and you will see the BW that's required to make an assessment on your situation.

I just visited new endo today and she said my system might need a restart and she suggested me to try a restart with taking Clomid. She wants to see what this does because I am only 32 years old. What do you guys think? She also wrote up a lab corp bw sheet and she has only FSH, LH, and Testosterone , Free(w/ total) marked is this enough blood work if she just wants to try a restart, or should I call back and try to get other blood work done? I just had the CBC, Lipid Profile, and comprehensive metabolic panel done with my primary doc about 1 month ago.

Then see if you can add what's missing from the Lab Work in the sticky. Fill in the blanks. I'm glad she's not jumping right into TRT. It's actually refreshing to hear. But, you still need the right BW. She works for you. Ask her for it. Tell her it would make you feel better.
Thanks for jumpin in GD!

If you just check them yourself you may cause a problem with your doc. Don't know if I'd do that. Just copy and paste the list from the sticky over to an email and fire it off to her. Tell her that's what you want. Personally I would not redo what was done a month ago.

Agree with Kel.
Get the panels that kel recommends in the Finding a TRT Doc; that will tell you the truth.
I wouldn't start on anything till that blood work gets done and a complete assessment of you situation can be made.
Any more thoughts on your history of Testicular Torsion?
