Cosrtisol, bloods vs saliva... if saying different things, which 1 more valuable?

My blood cortisol shows normal but my saliva always shows low end of normal. Which one would you say is more trustworthy or more accurate of the situation? Saliva reference was something like 6-40 and I was an 8, and for the bloods I was 500 (forgot the units).

    thanks!

    Saliva assay is best.

Are you testing for adrenal fatigue?

Yes sir. Thanks for the reply. He gave me a script for cortef and for pregnenolone based on the result. I also had low DHEA but we tried the supp in the past and it boosted my dhea levels to normal but also estrogen too much.

Would you recommend starting the preg or the cortisol first?

    Thanks.

Post your full blood work complete with ranges if you can.

Did you get your thyroid tested?

I dont have the numbers at the moment with me (still at docs), sorry, but I remember my status. Thyroid is normal and all other standard parameters (eg liver, chol, glucose, rbc etc) as well. Also had MRIs as well, and were normal.

Main issue was low DHEAs, low cortisol (saliva only) and low free serum test..

DHEA sublingual by itself was unsuccessful..had great results for 1 week, then built up tolerance..bloods showed E2 increase while not much T. Can restoring adrenals (if that is the issue) also restore test, or are the 2 not related like that?

Hence, doc said I could try cortisol instead.

Do you think I should try cortisol first and maybe pregnenolone, which might solve my issues? Then if not completely satisfied, I can add in TRT again?

    Appreciate your input as always!

I'm also curious which test is best when looking for adrenal fatigue.

I noticed that privatemdlabs.com offers a 24 hour urine test for cortisol.
