Vasectomy counter productive?
My brother thinks he may have lowT. His wife is bugging him to get a vasectomy. I told him to "man up" and tell her no. Would doing this affect ones testosterone and not be a good idea if one has low t? I feel I need to give him a better reason not to do this.

The prevailing medical opinion is that a vasectomy does not impact hormone levels. There are a few studies that point to men having higher T levels in later life when they had a vasectomy. Either way, your friend's concern about lowering his T levels is unfounded.

she wants him to get clipped so that "her" hormone levels can be normal... since she won't have to take hormones to prevent pregnancy..
Best thing i ever did .. and i did it 2x
lower test?/ no, and i'll tell you this, a pregnancy was tried to be tied on me later in life when i was divorcing my 1st wife.. the vasectomy saved me from that 18 yr payment plan..The answer to your every question

No she doesn't want him to do it for any low T issues. They had a hard time getting pregnant the first time so I'm sure they have ways to easily avoid getting pregnant again which is the reason, but I think some women use this as a power play on their husbands. I keep my fingers crossed that he wears the pants in this situation!

I guess I will throw in some actual reasoning into this conversation. You seem to be really interested in getting your brother to not have a vasectomy... why?
1. You can get a vasectomy at lunchtime, it takes 90 minutes including consultation
2. vasectomy is easily reversed, tubal ligation not as much
3. there is quite a bit more risk to a woman having a tubal ligation, men.... well it takes 90 minutes, you get a bandaid and go back to work
4. It has ZERO negative effect on testosterone production
5. It removes the chances of an accident that you have to pay for, for 18 (and lets be honest, more like 30) years
This shouldnt have anything to do with him "wearing the pants", it just makes logical sense. Plus, there is a period of time where you have to "unload the chamber" quite a bit to ensure there are no more sperm left in reserves. He can ask her for help since she wants him to get the vasectomy so much

Got clipped 3 years ago. Not even the slightest regret. LOVE knowing it won't be me hearing those words, "I'm Pregnant."
I did a LOT of reading about possible side effects, hormones, etc. There was nothing I found supporting alterations in Test levels in any way.

Does it negatively impact the quality of your orgasm when you're shooting blanks??

Not at all. Just make sure you where a jock strap for a few days and take it easy.
I decided I felt fine after sitting around for two days icing my nuts. Even took it to the wife a couple times....carefully. I ran the kids around and the took the wife out on the third day. Huge mistake. Boxer briefs are not as supportive as thought and I paid the price. I spent the next week feeling like someone just kicked me in the berries.

We were having this discussion the other day. Not done having kids, but considering our options as birth control pills are not one of them. I don't really want to get cut either, but it might end up being the best option. I don't know what bothers me about it, but it does.

Ok, here the old timer comes in. When I had a 1 son and a 1 daughter and a daughter married into I decided to have a Vas. It was the best thing for my wife and I. It did not have ANY adverse effect on my test level or my ejaculation or my sensitivity or my orgasms. I had better orgasms mentally knowing I was shooting blanks. If you have kids already do it is my advice. Now for the women it will make her feel more relaxed if she doesn't want anymore kids. As far as the test level it will not effect it. I had one when I was 30 or so and 6 months ago at age 61 my natural test level before my cycle was 619. Yep at 61 with the Vas my test level was 619. So there you have a true testimony from ...crazy old mike

Do they have kids already? If so she gave birth to them and delt with that pain, so he can handle a little vasectomy. I dont know why people are so scared of this, I had mine done and guess what..... EVERYTHING still works GREAT!!! Matter of fact we did it the next day, I had to be on bottom tho cause the shaking did hurt the step kids.
