Deprenyl/Selegilene heads up
Don't know if this info has been posted previously but if you are looking to purchase this supplement, it can be easily and cheaply obtained from the online pet care rx companies. I just priced some at $1.46 for 5 mg x 60 tabs. This is not a typo! Since you are buying it for your "dog", there is no prescription needed.

it is supposed to help protect the brain against the ravages of aging. Maintains cognitive performance, supposedly helps prevent alzheimers
these are offf label uses
the prescribed use is as a treatment for parkinsons
this is something being touted in the Life Extension community right now

For those interested here's a past thread on Selegiline:

It's a good one!
Read TR's post in it, it's excellent

Price is excellent!
However, a prescription IS required! On checkout, they want the name of the vet, along with contact information, and telephone so the prescription can be verified. makes you wonder how thorough they will be with a $1.99 order?
Anyone with any ideas?

I just ordered from the pet meds rx place. Filled in the name of a vet clinic I had visited, indicated I'd mail in the script, and the order was accepted. I'd bet this will never be verified and I'll receive the meds shortly. If not, I lose nothing.
I'd also bet the vet grade meds are made in the same place as people meds. I've taken my dogs' meds for various illnesses - and I'm still here.
Edit: Actually only one time that I can remember, off hand. Got giardia and had to take my dogs Flagyl - right away! If you ever have gotten this, you know exactly what I mean! (Originally bought it for pennies without a script from a fish supply site!) But I've given my dogs people meds lots of times. I was involved with rescue for many years so I knew what to do.Last edited by 2Sox; 04-11-2013 at 05:27 AM.

Well, just got an email from the place reminding me to mail in that vet prescription before they ship.
So much for my plans.
My apologies if I got your hopes up.

After reading a huge/thorough article with references here, Deprenyl (Selegiline), L-Dopa, and Parkinson's - The Life Extension Manual I am curious if those of us under the age of 40 should suppliment with Deprenyl? Also, due to the increased production of the antioxidant SOD as discussed in the article, do you take/recommend NAC like mentioned? I already take Vitamin C and E which was also recommended...
Let me know your thoughts or any other good reads you can point me to...
Thanks again

I have been communicating with an online pharmacy/distributor from overseas about getting deprenyl/selegiline. They are now carrying it as of an hour ago. (I purchase my hCG from there. So far so good. It's cheap, fast delivery, and I can use my credit card.) PM me if you are interested.
Price for 5 mg tabs:
60 Tablets 39.99
120 Tablets 80.89
180 Tablets 122.93
240 Tablets 153.6
Edit: By the way, mention 2Sox in the comments box at checkout and I'll get a little discount on my future meds.Last edited by 2Sox; 04-11-2013 at 04:25 PM.
