    High blood pressure help.

What are you guys using to help lower your blood pressure? My current bp is 167/107 with a pulse of 94bmp. I would like to try a more natural approach, then traditional medicines. Thank you in advance for your advise.

There are many things that can be done to lower BP. Read this link:

High Blood Pressure - mmHg, Hypertension, Cardiovascular Disease - Life Extension Health Concern

Daily cialis as well will help to lower BP along with the many other benefits it offers.

And I want a toilet made out of solid gold... but you need a beta blocker ASAP.
I recommend bisoprolol, as it is highly cardioselective and has a long duration of action.

Strunes that is dangerously high high blood pressure. High blood pressure puts you at risk for stroke. I have high blood pressure but it wasn't that high, but was 140/85 - 145/90. My doc put me on Lorsartan 25mg to get me at 130/80. The good thing with losartan is that it is safe to take with Cialis. So when I get my Cialis it will be interesting to see if it drops lower. But with blood pressure that high, I would see a doctor. I would think loosing one half side of your body function to a stroke would be worse than having a heart attack.

I'd like to know more about yourself, and see if the origin of this high BP can be defined. Obviously this wasn't the case your whole life, so when did it show up? Has it gradually been increasing, did you noticed it all at once? What medications or food/drink consumption might be a factor? Drinking or taking certain oral meds can cause liver stress, increased enzymes, and elevated BP can be a marker. Could also be kidney related; possibly renal hypertension, or some form of metabolic condition attributing to this.

The more you can tell us, the more we can help. If you have any recent labs, that would be a great place to start, in addition to your full stats and history leading up to this situation.

Vets absolutely correct. I would like to add that you need to do something quickly to get your BP down while trying to find a possible root cause. You have no idea if you have a ticking time bomb ready to go off or not. I know of one guy in his 40's who looked in great shape and had a minor stroke. I later learned he had very high BP and did nothing about it.

I would guess that the root cause of his high blood pressure stems from the fact that he is prescribed 300mg of test per week for TRT.

BINGO! Good catch, Dog. I searched the op's other thread and read that. If ppl would just keep everything in one thread...

Lower your dose, it's literally killing you. If you do, chances are good you may go back down to a reasonable bp. Continue on, and nothing but trouble lies ahead.

Do you have symptoms such as headache, nausea and vomiting, mental confusion, vision changes, chest pain, or shortness of breath?

I went out to get my labs done today and my Dr said he will revise my HRT as needed.
As far as my blood pressure it has been high for the last few years and no medicine has been able to help it much. I'm on a mixture of 5mg Amlodipine and 10mg Enalapril and my BP is still higher then normal during the day. However my blood pressure is normal in the late evening and early morning but as soon as I start my day it sky rockets. My labs have always been good, other then the low test so there is no medical reason for my high BP. I did talk to my Dr about supplementing my medicine with 5mg of Cialis and he agreed to give me a weeks worth to see how things go. The only side effects I have so far are a flush face and heartburn, but I think that will go away once my body adjusts to the Cialis.

Readings between 160/102 and 180/110 usually indicate stage 2 hypertension, which puts you at high risk for life-threatening problems such as heart attack and stroke. Overtime uncontrolled high blood pressure leads to chronic damage of the body's arteries and organs. Common results of this damage include enlargement of the heart, which can cause heart failure, and chronic kidney damage, which can eventually require dialysis.

I would try the 5 mg of Cialis twice daily or every 12 hours. It's a very low dose to start out and this optimizes serum levels.

Talk to him about adding a low dose alpha blocker as noted here like 1 mg of Doxazosin to the 5 mg of Cialis.

I do this regime for many reasons (see GD's supplement thread here) and I can only tell you that my BP is text book for a healthy 52 year old man

If you're Doc is open minded and willing to help; give it a try...plus there are many other great benefits of these two drugs co-administered.

The very best natural thing u could do, is to drink 1-2 glasses of beetrootjuice aday, mixed with greens rich in nitrats, spinach, ruccola f.i. Nitrat turns into NOs in the arteries, with makes your arteriewalls smooth and elastic witch again makes everything run easier which will again put less stress on your heart to make the flow.
And smooth and elastic walls decreases chances of getting plaque buildup, clot, strok and heartattack.

And im not talking for 3 weeks. No!!..this must be your protocol for the rest of your life.
Actually i think the most healthy u could do, is to drink a glas of beetrootjuice everyday.
