How exactly does TRT help reduce belly fat?
It's a common symptom among men with Low t and reduction of fat mass is a known benefit of TRT, I am wondering why this is. Does a healthy T level promote an increase in metabolism or just increase lean mass which increases calorie expenditure? I was under the impression only HGH and Thyroid replacement can increase one's metabolism.

You got it right; TRT promotes increase I'm resting metabolic rate.
Think how you were when you were 18.
You could eat a house and not gain a pound.

So ease up on the cut. Don't diet away hard earned muscle.
Exactly!
Exactly this. Resistance training will burn more calories over the long haul than cardio, hands down. The more muscle you carry the higher your metabolic rate will be thus more calories burned all the time. I cut the grass every 5 days for my cardio. And I hate that.

Hah I meant Gd not god. But close enough. I'm 260 right now. I look pretty good for my size now. I can't do too many leg things because of my knees and work. I started doing elliptical high resistance for leg strength its a great workout and does not feel like cardio haha

Look into knee wraps or knee selves to help, also get some Glucosamine/Chondroitin Sulfate, it helps a lot. to be honest the elliptical is a lot harder on the knees then a workout, also try to foam roll your IT band and the rest of your leg. Most people I see that have knee issues it's not the knee its tightness around it that screws up the ball/joint.

I prefer a small amount of cardio that is high intensity (HIIT, tabata, etc.) to keep my endurance up. My focus sticks on weightlifting, however.

I mean I know the whole thing about lifting burns more calories and especially for up to 24 hours AFTER you lift, don't get me wrong, I love to pound the weights.
But what about the heart healthy benefits of true cardio? Plus I just love the blood flow and energy from a good burst of cardio. Thinking about doing a full marathon in October, lol.

A regular cardio routine and training for a marathon are 100% different

well true. regular cardio is good for you, training for a marathon isn't, lol.

I was reading along, giving you "thumbs up" 'til I read that you want to train for a marathon...lol. ugh. That's gotta be intense. Good luck.
Anyway, after 16 months on a gel, I've gained 12 lbs(I want to gain more), waist has decreased 1.5", and bf% has decreased by 5 pts. I lift, but hardly ever do cardio...other than warming up

I've gone from 22% BF to 10% now in 11 months and I stopped all cardio. I do weights 3 times a week, mostly Kettle bells and my own body weight exercises, pull-ups, pushups....
My success is from a combo of diet and TRT.
I went from high carb to high fat and high protein diet.
Worked for me.

Yes BF and fitness health is 80-90% diet. Many people don't want to hear that because it is easier to drag yourself to the gym than it is to clean up a diet. The latter can be a lifestyle change which is harder at first.

Yep, finally after all these years of trying to slim down I FINALLY found that it’s just finding the right mix of fat/carb/Protein that worked for me. With the TRT I’ve gained 12 lbs. of muscle and lost over 20 lbs. of fat. My stomach has gone from 38/39 inches to 34 now. I’m heading to 32, unfortunately it’s the LAST thing to drop!

I've had knee problems for at least 18 years.
I started taking glucosamine/ condroitin 1500 mg twice a day and msm 1000 mg twice a day along w vit d 10,000 iu a day and over the past three months my knee pain is practically gone.

That’s funny, I did the opposite. I’ve had knee problems for years and took glucosamine/chondroitin every day. When I changed the way I eat I stopped taking them and have never looked back. Hasn’t had any knee pain in 9 months and my squats are deeper and longer…..

Well I was taking the gluc/cond for years too and I still had the pain. It wasn't until I started the msm and vit d that the pain went away. I like the combo. It seems to work for me.

Walk 2 miles every moring and lift heavy 2-3 times per week. Good balance between cardio and strength training. The fat will fall off if you don't eat crap daily.
