    My doctor is a quack!

I am 34 years old and have been feeling awful for the past 6 months. I am 5'7" and weigh about 255 pounds. I jut had my bw done and the results showed high cholesterol and low T(219).

My issue is that the doctor I go to is a known "pill pusher" who will give out anything to anyone. Pretty much whatever I ask for, I will get. This is good in the fact that I can get what I want but I don't want to harm myself in the process. I am planning on going on a diet when I start to get the best effect of the TRT. What questions do I need to ask him and what would be a good point to start at as far as type/dose?

    Any help is appreciated.

quacks are both a blessing and a curse. tell him you want to try trt(after more blood work to rule things out), and i would start at 100 mg every week and hcg 250 iu twice per week...and keep an ai on hand.(most people say to pin test 2x per week as well, but i personally dont want to pin all the time)......ask for a pituitary mri, and blood panels of tsh, free t4, free t3, total and free test, estrogen sensitive assay, dht, dhea, cortisol, prolactin, progesterone, lh, fsh, shbg, vitamin d, vitamin b12, cholesterol again.
    that should be pretty sufficient.

I tried pellets and wished I hadn't a couple months in. I switched to injections as soon as I could.

That said, I personally would look at losing weight and getting your cholesterol in check BEFORE doing TRT to see if it helps. Have you had other tests done as well (i.e. tests for diabetes, prolactin, etc.)? There are other things to consider along the way here that may actually get you around needing the TRT.

solid advice, except test E needs to be injected twice a week. period.
otherwise, you've got ups and downs throughout the week and that is grounds for acne, blood pressure fluctuation...and a long list of other things.

    Just do it.

Same protocol applies to test c and test e. They are nearly identical.

so then why did he say test e has to be done twice per week...from what ive heard it is optimal to do twice, but once is still fine.

Thanks for the replies. I did just have some be done. I will put the results of some of the tests I had done below.

    Cholesterol 273
    HDL. 34
    LDL. 188
    Ratio. 8.0
    Triglycerides. 257
    TSH 1.74
    B12 440
    Vit D 26

Cholesterol and tri's high, tsh seems normal, b12 was good and vitamin d is low.

Not sure if any of this helps with any more info you can give me.

    Thanks

Not sure what you mean - he already was tested. Being well overweight with high cholesterol can be causal or symptomatic of other health problems (i.e. diabetes, etc.). There could be any number of reasons he feels like shit even with low T and addressing the low T directly may just be addressing a symptom of a bigger issue. If the bigger issue is treated, perhaps there is no need for TRT.

You can still get healthy even while feeling like shit at first.
