Some Pro Advice needed- LOW Test
I just turned 40. Stats- 200 lbs, 14% BF, 6'-0". I have been training forever. Eat clean.
I was about to start a Sustanon 250 cycle. So I decided to get my blood work done. Comes back that my test level was below 100. To me this seemed a bit odd and they are rechecking. I feel a bit lower in the energy department and slightly weeker. But I figured for 40 years old what the hell. Liver, Cholesterol, sugar, etc. etc. all normal.
Now the Doc decided to get me started on 200 mg of Test Cyc per week. He gave me a shot of 400 mg to get me started and wants me to start the 200 mg per week for 10 weeks. He also gave me a shot of HCG and B-12.
He did not give me any AI, do you think I should be taking the AI at such small dosages?
I am a bit disappointed about my Test Levels. I am not sure if I screwed myself up by doing a Cyp 200 mg cycle in the past with no PCT or HCG?
I have the Sus250 ready to go but mixing with Cyp I would think is a no no and I would think that getting my test back up to normal levels (if this can be done) is more important. Any thoughts on this? I really did not anticipate being on HRT, never mind if this may be long term. Do the doc's normally prescribe a PCT or is this something you just stay on indefinitely? I do not plan or want to have any more kids. But I do not think I want to be taking weekly injections for the rest of my life.
Thanks for any feedback.

Most likely the past as use and age related decline is contributing to your condition.
Stick with your Physician's protocol and don't go adding any other compounds.
As for an AI what were your E2 serum levels before starting your protocol?
HCG should be administered 3 times a week when on a TRT protocol.
Read the stickies at the top of the forum.

BTW, and your Doctor should have explained this, but TRT is for life.

Doc said, Estrogen levels were good. We redid blood work. As far as "TRT" he did not call it TRT and did not say if this was for life. I have another appointment next week to discuss furher. He said we will talk about it more. The HCG is 3 times per week. At what point do you say to yourself, "yes TRT is what I want for the rest of my life?" It is a confusing topic becuase most docs want you to feel good and they normally do this through scripts. But is there a way to get your test levels back to normal (for 40) and still going on a bulking cycle every year or so. Or do I just say, F it, I am 40, AS cycles (not TRT) are not going to work for me and the best way to stay in shape and healthy is to uses TRT?

Fred - You need to educate yourself on hormone replacement for men.
Go to Amazon and search for Testosterone: A Man's Guide by Nelson Virgel. This book will help you in many ways.
Read all the stickies at the top of the forum.
Also, is your Doctor a specialist in hormone replacement therapies for men?
If not, you should know that most Doctors know just enough about TRT to end up hurting men in the long run...trust me on that.
By saying that your "Estrogen levels were good" what does that mean?
When you read the stickies and start to learn you will know why I asked that question.

Fred, ur not alone! Just want to echo what GD said, as usual he is spot on. There is no such thing as putting someone on 200mgs a week for 10 weeks, taking them off and "all is good". You will be totally shut down. Much worse things than being on TRT at age 40 but your Doctor should be informing u of this before injecting you with 400 mgs! Borderline malpractice, also I would not be concerned that your E2 was fine now but really what do you think will happen with these injections?? I no ur looking for answers but I would encourage you to read up because I question ur Drs knowledge in this field. Not one bit unusual my friend many of us have been thru it, best of luck, keep ur thread live.

Your estrogen levels may be "fine" but after adding 200mg a week of test your estrogen levels will likely increase possibly too high.

gdevine pretty much hit everything on the head. Your doctor should inform you *before* therapy (not "later") that TRT is for life and the possible side effects.
I can attest to what gd mentioned before, that being under the care of a doctor with little to no knowledge of TRT will set you backwards - and I will venture to say most doctors are ignorant in proper hormone treatments.
I suggest that before considering and starting TRT, you find a doctor that knows more than your current physician.
