Protein Requirements: Natural vs. TRT vs. AAS
What is everyone's thoughts/personal protein intake in regards to the three situations above? and would you agree it always stays constant, ie whether bulking cutting, maintenance
IMO
Natty: 1 g/lb
TRT: ??? no idea
AAS: ~1.25 g/lb
gonna do a cut after being on TRT for 4.5 months, I am a solid 198 lbs, and was trying to set my protein intake.
preliminary macros: 60 fat, 275 carb, 250 protein
if i could get away with 60-300-225, i would like them extra carbs lolLast edited by booku; 05-12-2013 at 11:16 AM.

Optimal protein intake fluctuates based on carbohydrate and overall energy intake as well other factors. Protein needs go up when either of the above things are insufficient.
Most Naturals probably could go under 1g/lb of BW during maintenance. With that said, although TRT may put us on the higher end of natty, in the end we are still technically within the normal range.
What's your TDEE and bf%? Assuming the deficit is <500, you are probably okay at your current macros, just watch your strength loss.

Protein requirements should be based off Lean Body Mass to begin with...
The higher you calories in relation to your TDEE the lower the protein....
The lower your calories in relation to your TDEE the higher the protein....
Bodyfat% is another factor to consider..... As well as goals
