    Sudden change in TRT symptoms

I know this post would provide more information if I had bw on hand but at the moment I'm waiting for the results which was a few days ago. I will post once I know.

Anyways, I started TRT about 8 weeks back with 150ml test e once a week. TT was ok (550), Free T was low (12), E12 was low (11) and igf1 was low (148). Since E2 was low doc thought once a week test was fine considering we wanted my E2 to climb.

After 3-weeks on test e (was waiting for hcg but compound pharmacy was closed for two weeks and doc wanted to see how I responded to test only at first), due to wife and I trying to get pregnant again through IVF doc advised to go off test and strictly on hcg 1000iu 3x a week to boost my boys to ensure sperm production wasn't affected too much. Doc suggested this protocol for the next 3mths. Up until last week everything was good, libido went up, strong morning wood, strength went up and overall I was feeling good. The only negative, if you can call it a negative, was I was always tired (could sleep at anytime).

Then after 8-weeks all of a sudden, libido dropped, no morning wood and joints started hurting but my main concerns are my ed and libido, especially since we are still trying naturally. Could this be a result of exogenous test being introduced to my system then taken away after 3 weeks and relying on my natural test to re-start along with hcg monotheraphy? Has my natural test been affected somehow to cause this? I know there are loaded questions but i'm curious if anyone has experienced this while starting and stopping test then adding hcg afterward as a monotheraphy.

Side Note: Thought this could be due high estrogen but I don't seemed to be experiencing other gyno symptoms.

You're HPTA suppressed and need to get it restarted with a PCT protocol.

Your Doctor should know this, it he doesn't, and it sure sounds like it; find another.

Hey GD before accusing my doc with "not knowing what he's doing" what can I base this claim on. I saw him a week and half ago and everything was fine. I will call him tomorrow with my recent symptoms and I hope that he will come to same conclusion but if he doesn't what can I say to convince him. He should also have my bw by now. Will bw indicate anything?
Also, what if I go back on test with this help?

Straighten me out. The numbers you posted are pre-TRT? If so, I'm not sure why you were put on TRT in the first place unless you and your doc examined all avenues of improving your natural levels first.

Agree with GD. I'd also say you need to come off of the HCG and begin a protocol of nolvadex and clomid to stimulate/restart LH and FSH production. You feel like crap as your T level is probably tanked.

If he knows what he's doing the blood work will scream at him; fact is, most Doctor's are not trained in the most recent hormone replacement therapies for men.

If he was, when he halted your TRT protocol he would have well known that HPTA is suppressed and it needs to be restarted as it rarely does so on its own.

The protocol that kel outlined is more inline and what you should have had to start with.

Read the sticky on HCG and also do some research on testosterone induced HPTA suppression and you too will start to learn.

Numbers are pre TRT Kel. I should get my new bw results this week so hopefully I will have some more info for you guys.

As stated above my overall well being is still good, workouts are good but it's my libido and erection quality that has decreased all of a sudden. Things were good and improving prior to a few days ago.

GD, when doc halted trt he did get bw (LH and FSH) and he said based on the results that a pct was not needed and that starting hcg would be fine.

Hey Kel and GD, here's what the doc told me over the phone (from what I can remember correctly). His main concerns were that my prolactin was too high and my e2 was high. Test and Ft were good. Dhea, PSA, Cortisol, etc. all good. I'm going in to see him in a couple of days. Still waiting on SHBG and DHT test (take longer for some reason).

    Prolactin: 14 4-15.2
    E2: 51 3-70
    Free Test: 20 5-21
    Testosterone : 728 348-1197

Could the loss of libido and erection quality be mainly due to high prolactin and e2? If so, could 1000iu 3x cause this?

Doc wants to lower my e2 (adex) and see if my prolactin decreases. He also wants me to go to 500iu instead of 1000iu.

I'm surprised that my E2 went up so high on just hcg due to me being quite low before (12) but I guess hcg highly aromatizes. Would the earlier usage of test have help boost e2 this far down the path (8 weeks later)?

Free test was low, e2 was low and I had all the symptoms of low t but with tt being not too bad but not great either. Started with test and then switched to hcg . Seems hcg alone is doing it but a little too much
