    Androgel restoration program

Can someone who has participated in the Androgel restoration program please chime in here?
I have been to the Androgel website, signed up and printed the submission form. I have been to the pharmacist and received my first prescription. ($50 savings, nice ) The form says I will need a separate savings card for any future savings. Will this card be mailed to me automatically? How do I obtain this separate card? My pharmacist didn't seem to know and there is no information on how to obtain it on the androgel website. My understanding is that I'm supposed to receive this savings for one year.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it comes pretty fast in the mail. But if your doc is halfway conscious, his drug rep should be giving him boxes of these little plastic cards to give out to his patients. I got my present one in the mail before I found out my urologist has a closet full of these cards in his office.

when I used androgel my doctor had a savings card that came with the information. I would try that route... androgel makes a lot of money from insurance, so it's peanuts to save the consumer about 50 bucks a month.

Even with the card, I was still paying $50 a month - and I understand that's pretty good. Now I'm in the Medicare "doughnut hole" and I'm paying $175 a month until the end of the year. This isn't really that bad but it's one of the reasons I'm planning on going to shots - which would run me about $15 a month with this other doctor. (No, it's not a typo.)

I also want to give shots another chance with another protocol - but that's for another thread.

yes the cost of androgel is high even with insurance! I think I was paying like 30-40 dollars per month for the gel WITH the savings card... it depends on insurance really. cost did not determine my treatment in this area, but it certainly didn't hurt because injections are cheaper out of pocket for an entire year before you hit the cost of a single month of androgel without insurance.
