Question regarding hair loss on TRT

    hello fellas,
Question, I realize that hairless is not caused by TRT but it can excelerate it if one is predisposed to it. So with that said any thoughts on how quickly one would start losing hair if predisposed and on TRT? Weeks, months, years?

How do you control dht? With what? And what are the lab tests that I should get to check my dht?
I have been on TRT for about 8 months now and have not lost any hair ...would it have already started to diminish if I was going to lose hair?

Minoxidil (a.k.a. "Rogaine") is a liquid that can be applied directly to the scalp to reduce dht there locally. Hair loss is very much a hereditary thing, but Minoxidil can help. When I noticed my hair beginning to fall out about 10 years ago, I started using it. It worked. I I'm 65 and have very little hair loss - except for slight receding in the front. No bald spot at all. Not one male in my family still has his hair. That speaks volumes to me.

By the way, my wife who is ten years younger, uses it too.

You can get it generic on Amazon.com very cheap. Kirkland brand.

Studies support DHT conversion while on TRT does not aggravate male pattern baldness (MPB). When a man becomes andropausal all the DHT he needs to aggravate MPB is present. Having more DHT once on treatment won’t change or advance this. Studies show that there is not an increase in MPB in placebo vs. testosterone therapy groups.-- Abraham Mortangler.

Now if you are not andropausal and doing a testosterone and/or other anabolics and increase DHT then YES! You can advance MPB and have a chrome dome at 23 much like your dad at 53.

Stay away from Finasteride and Dutasteride..Minoxidil and your compounding pharmacist can make a cream that you rub on that stops hair loss at the root. It works. Google Post Finasteride Syndrome. There is a yahoo support forum with men that have completely wreaked there endocrine system beyond repair. Dosent happen to everyone. However its medical opinion just to stay away from it. There has even been a few suicides of men sadly on that forum.

    LowtMike-

So Rogaine is good to go? I've been using it on the top of my head...and a little on the eyebrows... got some thinning going on
