I think my in-laws doctor might be an idiot.

So, my wife's father went to the doctor after I kept insisting he goes, he has been taking chemo but already cleared and is in no cancer medication.

So he finally goes and his test level was around 115, they prescribed him 200mg of cyp every 2 weeks. This was 2 months ago, he now goes back and test levels is at 110, the doctor just renewed his RX, didn't raise it to say... Every 9 days or whatever, this makes me angry because my inlaw is a good guy and I hate to see him in such low energy. I feel like giving him some amps and tell him to do an amp a week for 2 months then step back down.

Any ideas why the doctor would act this way?

Sadly because a lot, if not most doctors have no understanding of testosterone replacement or the half life of test cyp. It's very frustrating that they can prescribe that which they do not know. My first doctor had no clue what he was doing.

My guy took my off androgel with no pct. he doesn't even understand that if you stop exogenous test your going to be shutdown for a long time. I mean hell! That's the first thing I ever learned about aas! And I didn't even need to do 10+ years of schooling to figure that shit out.

What did the doctor say when he complained about the lower test level and protocol?

if his level is still 110 on 200mg cyp every 14 days maybe he still has other health issues associated with the cancer?
if he had his test taken 14 days from his shot though it's normal.....that protocol is garbage he neds to be on every 7 days shots with 100 mg injects....instead of giving your in law black market ''amps'' idk what an amp is btw...tell him to do 100 mg every 7 days

No hes been clear of all cancer. amps= ampules, and the ones i get are legit in other countries, meaning not underground lab. Yeah i just gave him a shot today and we're gonna do 1/2cc(100mg cyp) every week.

when he complained the doctor just gave him a refill and told him "lets continue with the treatment" as if discontinuing trt would somehow be an option, mind you he's late fifties. WTF!!

Dr's in general have guidelines and protocol to follow. Unless it's a long time relationship they rarely go out of theses lines so their asses are protected by and from the law.

All depends on the type of doctor you are dealing with. But Ironbeck is right, they have to cover their asses. But you also need to consider what the chemo is doing to his body. Chemo is just poison in your body. Wrecks your whole system. Is this a PCP or an oncologists? I work with doctors all the time and most of clueless outside of a few things they work with all the time. IMHO, I think you are doing well by him in changing his dose and time frame. Happy to hear he is cancer free. I hope he does a little 420 while on the chemo, I know it works well on pts under treatment.

I have never herd of any addition of test giving such a low reading of testosterone level..... Could he be getting the test from a compounding pharmacy or somewhere where it may not be the correct potency???..... Just seems way too low for anyone who is on 100mg a week..??? I'm not incredibly well versed in the trt world but I'm interested and trying to learn more....... Subscribed

I wish he did 420, alas I'm dealing with a 60 yr old Cuban man, very old school, the funny thing is that he had a arb accident 6 yrs ago and has 6 titanium pins on his back, so he can take 1 or 2 Percocet per day, however 420 is the devil. Geez.
