    dosage. monthly or weekly?

I was just prescribed 300 mg of test enth per month. Doctor was going to administer it in a single monthly shot.. Would I be better off breaking it up into 4 weekly shots, or does it not really matter.

    thanks

Yes it needs to be divided into weekly doses to have more stable levels.

Once weekly if using hCG . Otherwise twice weekly is best.

One a month is a poor protocol.

    Hello,
I inject 60mg's every Tuesday morning and Friday night for a total of 120mg's (I wanted 100 but it's hard for me to get the tick mark.) I also inject 250iu's of hCG on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

I don't have to inject twice a week since I'm using hCG? I'm doing twice a week because I read that's best practice

    Thanks

I believe Austinite was referring to a minimum required to be an effective TRT protocol.

Dont mean to be disrespectful but Im really surprised to see a question like this. You can do yourself a whole lot of good if you read all the stickies. I cant imagine anyone asking if a monthly shot is sufficient after reading all the info specifically Tes half life.
Your Dr is among a very large percentage that are practicing a field of medicine which he or she is not qualified to practice, I.M.O. this is not unuasal. With that protocol, Im guessing you will feel like superman for 10-15 days then like crap days 16-30.

I actually had a doctor tell me that 400mg's every 2 weeks (and another one tell me that 400 every 3 weeks) was better than weekly or 2X a week because it allows the testosterone levels to drop and prevents desensitization (sp?) of androgen receptors throughout the body. It also lets the HPTA activate for a short time so that it does not totally shut down

Oh I already knew the answer, Ive been a member here since 2005 and read plenty of stickies. I am just looking for backup because I know as soon as I tell my fiance that I want to split it up into more frequent injections but smaller doses instead of taking only one shot a month, she is going to tell me that I am wrong and that the urologist knows best cause he is a doctor.

But ya definitely thank you for your reply

Go with 75mg per week. Bet you'll be just fine.

You say you have a fiancé, are planning children in the future. I am no expert but once you start on TRT its for life and reduces the chances of pregnancy for your future. A guess a few of the pro's can chime in here.

That's why we take HCG :-). Or one of the reasons I should say.
