Pinning .25ml in quad E3.5D
I've had some odd reactions to injecting my test cyp in my abdominal area and also the love handle area. I've come to terms that my love handles aren't that fatty right now, and my abdominal area doesn't agree with the test. So... I've decided the last two injections to try pinning in the quads. I've had ZERO reaction from it.
I don't know if I can consider this IM or Sub Q. Please help I'm using a 27g needle which is 1/2" long. I know some will say that it's too short, however, my quads have very little fat on them and they're muscular. If I push the pin in all the way to the hub, could that be considered IM? I could always call LowT and request if possible to get longer needles, however, I've pinned twice in the quad so far and it's been GREAT! No redness, no marks, no bruising, and no itching or welting.
Any vets care to chime in? I feel pretty good about injecting in the quads as long as I rotate. I have lean muscular shoulders too and was thinking about pinning the delts in the rotational mix too. Trying to stay away from the abdominal area if possible. Seems that is the worse place for me. I have been doing my hcg with a slin pin in the wallet area of the glutes with little to no adverse effects as well.
6 week blood work on Tuesday.... I'll post when I get them. Still worried about estradiol...

Out of curiosity did subq cause you irritation at the injection site starting about 24 hours after injection?

Precicely! Yes! I thought I would be ok almost everytime I injected in the abdominal fat area. But then within 24 hours I'd get that giant raised red welt. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong and with each time I took extra precautions and still ended up with it so I had to go to plan B, which was the quads.

I had the same issue. Its an allergic reaction to something (I'm guessing the oil?). I've tried multiple different subq locations with the same results. Don't seem to have problems with IM. Maybe the body isn't as good at finding allergens deep in muscle than around the skin? Either way if you don't get a reaction to your quad injections with a 1/2 inch needle its a good chance is going IM.
Just my two cents. Keep in mind I'm new to this myself.

I'm hoping that the 1/2" is going IM. If not, when I refill my script I will ask for some IM needles. But I did a shot on Wed and a shot mid-day today (both in quads, opposite side each day) and no adverse reaction.

I don't know about the 1/2" needle for IM but if you don't have much BF, it's probably IM. Either way it seems your problem is solved.

Great! Thank you guys! I was thinking I would get flack for not using a longer needle (which the needles don't bother me) I just wanted to not waste the ones I've been sent. Lean quads, pin all the way in, and no issues even 24 hours later. Think I've found my injection site that works for me. Very cool! Now for the blood work Tuesday!
