    Vitamin D3?

Was told by the doc I need to supplement with extra D3 because I'm on test. Shouldn't I get enough in the sun (I do live in the Sunshine State) and through foods?

What is your level? I am vit D deficient. I take 5000iu's a day. You need to know your level.

That's just it, they didn't test for it. So not quite sure why they think I should supplement. Wondering if it's something needed when on trt.

Most in North America need to supplement. Check your level first though like LT said. There are some great threads here on D that you should search up. It's one of the most important vitamins (actually a hormone) that you can take. It will help to increase your Free T level as well.

I get allot of sun I n southern Cali, did BW my level was low 30s on a scale of 30-100, supplemented with 20,000 ed and my level went up slightly above 100. so sun alone is not enough.

Neat example Bass: I run 5K D3 6 days per week. Then one 50K D2 once per week. Keeps me around 80 on a scale of 30-100. Started tanning for the past several months twice per week and maintained the same protocol. My recent test jumped up to 117. At that level I stopped all supplementation for several weeks to allow it to drop back a bit as it's fat soluble. Now I may drop the 50K for a while. Interesting what tanning can do.

just curious, do you think tanning gives you same effect as the sun on vitamin D?

Don't think the exact same but it can/will raise D levels. I've got no other explanation for my jump.
