Hmm, just asking a question really. I've self medicated in the past. Wanted to hear experiences and hopefully learn.

Not a smart move I feel, if anything see a doc 1st and learn the correct things to check for and proper bloodwork.
No need to self medicate when you have places like Low-T that can help that can get you legal and consistent meds. most of the people I know who take test w/o labs have no clue and end up with High E2 gyno sides and a shit ton of acne I see it at my gym all the time, again the same can happen with doctors as well but again LowT here or any of the top docs can solve this issue so no need to self medicate anymore.

Don't repeat yourself. Answers were given. Thanks to all who answered, very informative. Indeed the need to self-medicate is less now than years before. Places such as the ones mentioned here sure help the consumer. But regardless, there will be people who chose to self-medicate. To those I suggest to get BW periodically. Now days you can get a BW script via internet for less than $100. Items such as AI, etc. can also be purchased via Internet. Recreational users have vast amount to information available, good info, not just your "your first cycle should always be5000mg, blah, blah. I feel information as the one you guys have stated is great, especially for 21 y/o wanting to get on to "HRT".... thanks 'gain.

I was originally diagnosed with low t through my endo. Total Test numbers were 287 (250-1000). I was 22-25 years old.
He said I was fine (in normal range) and sent me on my way. Mind you I was also prescribed antidepressants throughout my late teens into my 20s.
Fast forward to age 28 and I was out of hope and through an online friend, I was referred to an anti-aging clinic. I sent them blood work, they told me I was hypogonadal and what I needed to take. I sent them a chunck of change and I was on my journey. I never talked to a doctor, but his assistant.
Their Invoice, I mean prescription was heavy duty. 300mg test cyp a week, 1000iu hcg once a week, .5mg arimidex ED. Plus several other vitamins. But they are doctors, right? They wouldn't steer me wrong.
After doing some research and joining these boards, I quickly learned that was crap. I also got very tired of paying those high prices to people who were more interested in my wallet than my health. I don't want to write a book, but there were several other things wring with that protocol, other than the high test, as you can probably tell.
Now, with the help of research and having blood work, I've dialed in my trt protocol and fixed MANY bumps along the road. I now take less than half of what they were prescribing, addresses the low dose AI crashing issue I had and dose my hcg in a much more efficient and healthy manner. I still gave bi-annual blood tests, which tests more things for less money than they were charging. If anything fishy comes up, I research it and if necessary, take the blood work to my GP.
I don't suggest this route. If you can be treated under a physicians care, in an affordable manner, than do it.Last edited by Black; 02-06-2014 at 05:23 PM.
