Loss of penis sensitivity. Hormone problem?
Hello everyone,
I'm 24 years old and for the past several months my penis and testicles have been sort of numb. It seemed to come out of nowhere. No touch sensitivity, but I can feel pain from a pinch. My sex drive is lower and erections are a pretty weak too. I've seen a doctor and I got tested for several nerve issues and those came back fine. I then got a testosterone blood test (I guess a very basic one) and it came back fine. I'm not sure what my test levels were, but my doc said they weren't too low so I didn't ask.
I was wondering if I should get a more complete hormone test from like an endocrinologist or something. Have you guys ever heard of a problem like lack of penis sensitivity from out of balance hormones? I'd appreciate any help.

Haha I wish. I've been like this for months though. When the numbness first started, I abstained from sex and masturbation for a couple of weeks to see if it would make a difference. It didn't. Also, if that were the case, it wouldn't explain my balls having no sensitivity either.

Did you have estrogen tested? Could be low or high. Do you have a hard time busting a nut?

Nope. Didn't have estrogen tested. Maybe I should have. It does take longer to bust a nut now, but I think its partly because of the loss of sensitivity.
Around the time this started, I started taking a supplement called SAM-e. If I remember correctly, if was like a natural anti-depressant. It supposedly increases serotonin naturally. I took it for a couple of weeks then stopped because it gave me headaches. I can't remember precisely, but I think when I stopped taking the SAM-e, that's when this low sensitivity issue started. Its got me wondering if the SAM-e somehow it caused this. Prescription anti-depressants can cause sex issues like this maybe even the natural ones can too. I dunno. I gotta get back to the doctor and ask about this.

Never heard of it. Sounds like symptoms of either low or high estrogen could be a possibility. Have you cycled recently?

if your getting hard and loss of sensitivity its could be low estrogen, if your not getting hard fully could be high estrogen

I'm still having sensitivity issues. I've had some hormone panels done and it appears that my free t is low and my total t is a little low too. I see an endo next month, but honestly I don't expect him to do anything about it.
Are you experiencing something similar?

Many many MANY times loss of sensitivity in the penis area is due to pressure and damage. This can occure from cycling (bicycling) (happened to me) and also just sitting in a poorly made computer chair.
Nerve damage down there can be a pain. It is recoverable. Doctor had me on a donut for 4 months and the feeling came back like a light switch.

Loss of sensitivity is not uncommon in young men with hormone problems, in fact it's actually a little on the common side. Many of them do not realize they have this issue, not until the overall hormone problem has been resolved.

I've had 3 massages and each week is getting better. He digs his thumbs deep in between my stomach and hips. Really hurts but each week it's relieving the pressure. I'm peeing ALLOT better too and ejaculating more volume.
I'm very pleased !!!
