heading to see a general MD, she specializes in a lot things

here goes. i have been plagued with terrible muscle knots and am finally going to see a doctor about it. my calves feel like there are eggs in there and the just will not go away for anything! she is a general doctor who specializes in numerous things. i want to bring up my hormone levels with here and the need to test them. i do not heal well in any aspect and i'm thinking that hormones are somehow playing a role in this. what are some tests that i want to make sure they test for when blood sampling? this will be my first ever visit to a doctor in which i will be requesting this type of bloodwork, and i just want to be sure i ask the right questions. thanks in advance!

Well, this doctor is different and I may have to consult another. She is more about acupuncture and myofascial release than hormones and blood work.

Guess it is back to the drawing board

Start with a GP (general practitioner). Standard panels should be CMP (not BMP), CBC, full hormone panels. Information on platelets, iron, hematocrit, white cells, RBCs, electrolytes, should be first places to look. Based on initial lab work, that should provide insight where to look further. There are more comprehensive tests, but these are the first places to look.

Complete hormone panel would not normally be indicated, but knowing your history, it would be information I would want to assess.
