Ultrasensitive Estradiol vs. (Normal) Estradiol Blood Tests
Thought I'd share my anecdote between the ultrasensitive estradiol and the typical estradiol blood test. I was curious myself so ran both tests to compare the difference.
I believe the most prevalent assumption is the non-sensitive test is skewed with a higher result than compared with the sensitive panel (usually lower). It was opposite for me:
ESTRADIOL, ULTRASENSITIVE LC/MS/MS: 42 HIGH [< OR = 29 pg/mL]
ESTRADIOL: 29 [< OR = 39 pg/mL]
TESTOSTERONE , TOTAL, LC/MS/MS: 1052 [250-1100 ng/dL]
I'm unsure of the methodology of the sensitive panel performed with LabCorp, as the above was drawn through LabQuest (using liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry, which is considered the industry gold standard).Last edited by phaedo; 08-06-2014 at 04:33 PM.

I also ran both side by side twice, Labcorp tests.
Both times sensitive was ten points lower.
