I feel like due to media stereotypes that when a man takes something like HRT that we have to worry about being classified as vain, stupid, muscheads. Clearly this isn't true and based on naive prejudice. But I believe this, like many archaic ways of thinking, will eventually diminish.

I know that my mother and older sister immediately rush to judge and criticize regarding the cliches about testosterone use . The crazy thing is that they are BOTH on estrogen replacement therapy ( like 50 million other women are) and they have no idea or clue that this view makes them look rather silly.

Anyways, among my friends I'm open about it but with others I'm not . Mostly because I'm relatively more muscular than most and I can tell some people are itching to try to place u in a category that makes them feel more comfortable about themselves...

And you need to point out clearly that they are being hypocrites otherwise it wont change.

Very relevant comment. A guy who I became friendly with at the gym - 30 years younger - and who is educated and knows steroids very well, just recently implied that my progress is because of "steroids". Never mind that he knows that I'm only on "TRT". And never mind that I work my ass off. Need I say more? I regret ever saying anything to him.

women do far more dangerous things to look good. They get under the knief to cut pieces of their bodies. I've heard of lots of complications after surgery. My wife's friend had a tummy tuck surgery and her heart stopped in the middle of the surgery. She is lucky to be alive today.

I do, but it probably speaks more to our society that even though it should be obvious to anyone that they are being hypocrites it still makes them feel more comfortable to conform to these societal molds.
They even both take it a step further...they are both on high blood pressure scripts but they both often refuse to take because it makes em look bloated.
So they are basically choosing to risk having a heart attack for vanity (even though they have never even seen a gym)while i have perfect blood pressure and exercise.

I think it just makes people feel better about themselves. I have to hold back the vomit in my mouth every time I see someone with flabby, loose, massive bellies or a uterus hanging past there waist while wearing a tank top but I also understand that when I walk by in a tank top on a hot summer day the shame they must feel.
It then become far easier for people to criticize someone taking steps to improve their quality of life in a fashion like trt.

Outside of my immediate family only a couple of close friends. I find that the topic of steroids or the like normally don't come up outside of the gym. One friend I have discussed it with is a friend who is an mma judge and testosterone replacement came up with Vitor Belfort and Chael Sonnen. Ironically we discussed maybe him coming up on it.

    Im open about it:
    1. Im a extremely bad liar.
    2. It nicely hide the steroid use .
    3. It is easely understood by people.
    4. The goal of it is to increase quality of life their is nothing to be ashamed of...

My close family do not know, most friends that are gym rat like me know.for my TRT status even some know for my steroids use.

Of course im not walking with TRT written on my face. But if we got in the subject of steroids I dont hide my knowledge and explain the health implication and saying im on TRT is way less judge than just steroid use. But still explain my knowledge.

I try to educate who I can, cause I truly believe in testosterone to improve life. And its a pain that it is illegal cause life would be better for a lot of man with testosterone supplementation.
