diagnosed with testicular cancer last week .. now what to do about TRT?
Well a couple weeks back between all the lab work and CT scans..
I was doing 200mg week of Test Cyp. for years but once this crap started was asked to stop by the doctor till a treatment is finalized. They removed my left testicle that was tumor infested a couple Fridays ago. Doctor said its possible that its not been working in a while due to the cancer and this may have been why my T levels have always been lower than avag *(around 220)
C.T. Scan shows spots in my lungs, but they may just be normal or the cancer may have spread - should know more tomorrow (9/29/14)
I have read some people say stop all TRT as it can cause cancer or cause it to come back, just looking for opinions from others.

Man, I dont know what to say, and I have no knowledge of that, but wish you all the best. I had to deal with skin cancer that a couple of years back and its no joy. Best of luck and stay positive.

Not happy and still a little in shock, but I'll know if it spread from my nut to stomach, to lower lungs tomorrow.. once we know that we can start with treatment. I'll ask my Dr. if I can continue my injections, just looking for as much incite as possible.
I really want to get back into the gym for some stress relief but I'm on hold until my abs heal up, was told I can tear the inside stitches pretty easy and give myself a hernia. But I did put in 15 miles on the bike yesterday, better than nothing I suppose

What was it that caused you to find that you have this cancer? Routine physical? Testicular pain?
Just curious and maybe the info can help others.
Best of luck to you!

I'm sorry but I haven't gone through that either. I would concentrate on whatever treatment is needed to control and eliminate the cancer, the worry about going back on trt. Good luck man.

While working on a our boat I leaned over the back into the engine compartment and smashed my "nuts", normal guy ouch pain.. well 4 weeks later my left nut still hurt and my wife made me go (happy she did), doctor immediately felt a mass and ordered a ultra sound, than surgery.
Once I was shown what to check for I noticed the difference, but to be honest I always noticed a difference between the two. Just figured it was a normal, like a left foot is slightly different from a right. This past week I have read a bunch about the rise in testicular cancer and guys keeping cell phones in their front pockets.. never noticed but I always kept mine in my left.

I don't believe there's any link between testosterone exacerbating or causing testicular cancer. That would be a huge leap. The debate with prostate cancer and testosterone has been debunked as well.
Best of luck Rick. Keep us posted please.

Sorry to hear about your troubles.
There are many men who continue TRT post-cancer and successfully. As far as while dealing with the cancer a lot of doctors aren't going to be comfortable with it. You should reach out to Nelson Vergel regarding this. Nelson battled cancer very recently and is a great source of info when it comes to this sort of thing.

Well radiation treatments are finished for now, In a month I head back for a PET (or PEP) SCAN to check spots on my lower lungs.
Doc. is fine with me re-starting my treatments (injections) - my starting level is 160 (with 1 ball) With this low test level and once a day radiation I cant tell you how lethargic I feel, I'm forcing myself to work out but feel like a baby lifting and wear out quickly..
Cant wait to start back up and get some energy.

Get well soon man ..
In such cases , people think of sperm banking.. But as you are on trt , I dunno...
If u are thinking of having kids on the future .. May be u should think of it..
One nut is enough , but take it as an extra safety procedure ..

Side note: I'm off to the doctors for a new script next Wednesday but would really like to get the ball pre-rolling. I have a bottle of 200mg Test C in the medicine cabinet, Its maybe 6/8 months old.. does it go bad? Figure I'll up my dosage FROM 1cc/wk to 1.5cc/wk and tell them before they draw blood.
I'm thinking 2cc/wk will be the magic number.. if I was needed 1cc with 2 balls basic math tells me I should need 2cc with 1 ball.
