Progesterone
In a social setting I was talking to a doc about TRT and he claimed that men on TRT should have their progesterone levels checked and that treatment with progesterone was warranted. For him it was one of the main replacement hormones that he used with men. While I'm pretty much up to date on treatment with T, HCG and an AI as indicated, I have no knowledge of the role of progesterone in a replacement setting. In women, yes. With men, no. Any info out there?

backfilling with hcg , dhea and pregnenolone has hormonal backfill benefits and is the route most go. You sure he meant progesterone?
Progesterone is pretty much the "mother hormone"but supplementing it is unlikely to help those with low T as far as I know
Recall reading low progesterone can cause estrogen dominance and maybe thus low T however. I dunno - thinking aloud now...Last edited by jimmyinkedup; 09-30-2014 at 03:20 PM.

Progesterone known as a male source/ secondary hormone. It can and has been applied in men to treat est and test imbalances It acts to inhibit the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase. I have some but have never bothered using it.

No. He said progesterone and he said it was particularly good for those who felt low or depressed. He would prescribe it mostly for its 'feel good' effect.

In women it stimulates lsh and lh for ovary production; in men it has been used to balance excess estrogen and is beneficial in brain injury and reducing inflammation and restoring sex hormones

And it does have a sedative effect as well;
