25 y/o with Low T. Looking for feedback on test results
25 yr old. Low T, looking for feedback on blood test
Just looking for overall feedback.
background.
diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was 18 and was able to see some overall improvements with energy and overall mood but as the years have gone by I just never felt like I thought I should. Still constantly taking naps, brain fog, depression, and most important was my difficult time losing weight.
For the past 18 months I've been seeing a dietician to get my weight down, but even following the program I wasn't getting the results. Finally had my testosterone levels check by a new GP I started seeing and the results came back
324 (300-1100) were the ranges . We discussed the possibility of TRT. Gel or injections but she advised me to have more panels done per recommendation of the onsite Endo. Well the results came back this week and my total T and Free T wAs lower than before. I included a screenshot. Again just looking for feedback, next visit is at the end of the week.

You mentioned you were diagnosed when you were 18yrs old. What was the reason for the diagnosis then, the cause?

And you responded well to t4 only Meds?
Don't most docs use armour or combo t4 and t3?

Levo is the most common way docs treat hypo. Your TSH will be down if your T3/T4 is down. I would like to see your full panel numbers if you have them. Your Test is low but still in the "normal" range and some docs don't like to prescribe TRT. There is a paper that says that there might be cardio pulmonary issues with patients on long term TRT. So patients should suffer from low Test so they'll be safe 25 years from now? The paper isn't definitive but it does say there might be a problem in the future with your heart. Something to think about. Best thing to do would be to have your doc prescribe TRT. Then the insurance will pick up most of the cost. If not, you'll have to cross that bridge when you get to it. Good luck.

That's also an older range for your total testosterone . Consider Labcor's more modern scale is 348 - 1197.
Love to see more BW. Prolactin, cortisol, etc. LH is on the lower end of the scale. Makes me curious about any prior head trauma, pathologies, etc.
Scotch are you referring to LVH? Left ventricular hypertrophy.

I was referring to TSH (Thyroid-stimulating Hormone). In my conversation with my endo TSH recovers much slower than the body's balance of T3/T4.

I'm hypothyroid, and from what I've learned in talking with my Endo, the need for both t3 and t4 is much less common than internet forums would have you believe. Most docs treat with t4 only and only a small percentage of people fail to respond well to it. Personally, I'm fine on just t4 (levothyroxine).
