    Trimix and Priapism

Does anyone have experience with Trimix? My Euro had me try it, and with the standard starting dose I experienced a 6 hour erection. Ended up in the emergency room with a PA jabbing my dong with needles and such. My Euro told me that I shouldn't use it again, but he also sounds a little inexperienced. I asked him if there's an alternative and he told me he'd have to look it up. I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience, and what their doctor told them.

From my knowledge, Trimix is a treatment of last resort. What is your medical history and what treatment have you previously received for your ED?

It is a last resort. Why would you stab yourself in the penis with an expensive drug before trying every oral PDE-5 inhibitor first?

Some psuedoephedrine would probably have resolved the issue instead of the ER.

I've tried Viagra, Cialis, Levitra, and Muse. Muse kinda works, but also is more painful to administer than the shots are. I was given Psuedoephedrine in the ER before they tried anything else, didn't do the trick. Next came the ice water enema, which also failed. Then they stuck some needles in there, aspirated the blood out, and injected some other drug, which finally worked. Ended up with a pretty terrible headache, though, which has so far lasted about three days.
I've been on TRT for many years. I always remember having spotty erections, but in the last 5 years or so the problem got worse. My labs look good, everything is in check other than HGH, which comes back at 0. LH and FSH are also low, but that's to be expected. The last lab I got was Test only, came back in the 600 range. I've had it from there all the way up to the 1200's with no effect. Every doctor I've seen has told me the HGH shouldn't cause the problem.
Last resort is actually the surgical installation of a pump, which I'm trying to avoid at all costs.

Edit: To clarify: Viagra and Cialis used to work flawlessly, stronger erections than ever. They slowly lost effectiveness. After doing some research, I found this is sometimes reported by patients, which I confirmed with my Euro.

What have your physicians concluded as to the cause of your ED? How old are you?

Not surprisingly, this subject has come up often here. Although ED can sometimes seem mysterious, the causes are known. The cures are another matter. You may want to start here at this thread to give you some other perspectives:

If you're talking GH serum it's not really accurate due to the pulsatile nature of GH. You'd need an arginine stimulation test.

Fetch, have you considered talking to a therapist about this? It may be something other than medical that you just don't realize. Erections require more than just physical capability. Have you ever tried PT-141 (aphrodisiac) as I'm curious if that would help.

Just some thoughts. I sincerely hope this works out for you.

Sorry to hear of your troubles OP. I can definitely see using it if nothing else works. Others swear by PT-141 as Kel mentioned.

I've seen other TRT sites that regularly promote Trimix on whomever will listen. They're obviously getting a kick-back from the compounding pharmacy listed on their boards.

Pretty irresponsible if you ask me...

Yes the PD5-inhibitors can lose their effectiveness. Trimix is a good answer should this happen. However, your doc should have had you inject a low dose of it in the office and monitor you. The dose can be increased should it be insufficient until you get to the right dosage. The risk of injecting a moderate dose is that it is too high or you are too sensitive to it and you get priapism just as you did. You should not have had to go through that. Once the dose is figured out in the office and you have shown that you know how to inject properly THEN you get to try it out at home.

Also new work has shown that sometimes you can use Cialis and a MUCH lower dose of Trimix and get as good a response as a higher dose of Trimix on its own. This should be done under a doc's supervision.

It was irresponsible on the doc's part to send you out to try Trimix without having given you a test dose and making sure you know how to inject. Find a doctor who understands the medication and consider starting at a way lower dose.

This is kind of out of left field but I have been using a peptide called melatonin 2 for tanning purposes and one of the side effects is wicked erections. Might be worth a try

You mean melanotan. And they've already suggested PT-141, which is the isolated aphrodisiac portion of MT II.

Sorry misspelled it and I wasn't aware that pt-141 was the same. Good to know

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'll certainly look into the PT-141 research, it sounds promising.
