Trying to knock the wife up in a few months
I have been on TRT for almost 3 years now. I have been using HCG on and off throughout that time. For the past 3 months I have been using it religiously.
I am currently on .25 ml every 3.5 days as well as .250 IUS of hcg the day after each shot. Lately my nuts have been high and tight. I still have atrophy and sometimes I have pain in my testicles. My seamen is all over the place. Sometimes it is super thick and other times its like water.
We are older so once we start I dont want to waste time which is why I am trying to prepare everything now so I am good for summer.
Should my first step be going to a fertility Dr and having a sperm count done? I am nervous they are going to tell me I need to come off the test. I dont have an issue with that. However my low t was so bad I would constantly make up excuses to have sex. I cant imagine how bad it will be now that I have been on test for 3 years.
What do you guys think the best steps are?

You don't necessarily have to visit a fertility doctor in order to get a lab order for a semen analysis. A GP, urologist, or endocrinologist shouldn't have any issue ordering the test.
You could just ask your current TRT doctor to write the order, as I imagine that he would understand your desire to stay on testosterone .

My current TRT Dr is pretty useless.
I was thinking fertility in the event there is an issue I am at the source to start working on a fix.

You don't have to rely on him to interpret the results of your semen analysis, just to write the lab order.
Once you get the results I'm sure you can get a basic understanding of them through some Googling. If something seems off, seek out a fertility specialist to help fix it.
It's possible that you have nothing to worry about anyway, no sense in starting up with another doctor if you don't need to.
You've got some room to increase your dose of hCG as long as your doctor is ok with it. Some guys just don't seem to achieve the desired effects from the dose that you're taking, myself included. 250iu 2x/wk wasn't enough for me.Last edited by Chauffeur; 03-05-2015 at 02:39 PM.

It could be that 500IU of hCG isn't enough. You might do better at 700IU per week.
I prefer to inject hCG daily to keep the boys busy all the time.

I am in the same boat and my doc said to do 200 a day until it happens. This is from my wifes conception doc not my TRT doc. I passed that to my TRT doc and he upped my HCG to help.

hahaha, that reminds me of a story a while back from TR. He was working in Afghanistan and over heard one of the locals complaining about his wife to his brother inlaw that she was not fertile, not getting pregnant and considering stoning her (fvckn hell). TR talked to his manager and they had to explain to the guy that to get her pregnant he had to have sex with her in her Vag, not in her azz. Yeah he had no clue what the front hole was for except for pissing out of. LOL
Rwy, shoot me a PM if you need some help with the wife.

250UI HCG EOD with 50mg clomid ED and vaginal sex EOD with few extra here and there until success.
Within 1 months it should be done.
Dont always count on when your wife is ovulating or any of that bullshit this is just a way invented by frustrated women to restrict sexual intercourse...
Do it regularly and alot and it will eventually work.
Fertility test is always interesting to have cause maybe you are not the problem.
Good luck

Good news, just a couple of thoughts.
1) Getting the stuff in the right hole is some good basic advice. I'd run with it.
2) You can get self-seaman analysis through Discountedlabs.com (done through LabCorp)
3) Consider upping the HCG even if you have good counts. Sperm maturation is also important and they need high levels of Intratesticular Testosterone (ITT). Research has shown that healthy guys on TRT need about 1000 IUs per week (in divided doses) to bring ITT levels back to normal.
Good luck!
